Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was part of our excursion with Coquille Bonheur and was the only part of the tour that we felt was disappointing. We were there for approximately one hour. A female member of staff was allocated to show my wife and I around the shop and workshops. However, she only spoke to me / gave eye contact to me and constantly pushed for me to buy one of the most expensive ships. You can't deny excellent craftsmanship however the workshop is an upstairs area the conditions of which appeared somewhat poor. Felt judged when making a small souvenir purchase (however felt that we had to make some sort of purchase). She followed us constantly around the shop and felt constantly pressured to buy a model at several hundred pounds. All in all, not what we had expected. It was titled as visiting a ships' museum however neither of us felt that this met the mark or standard of the rest of the tour.

Visited the factory where the boats were being hand made and then looked through the shop at the finished articles.

Some beautifully made boats however out of our price range!

I visited this establishment as part of the brilliant 'Authentic South' Tour with Mauritius Taxis. There is no doubt that the handmade ships are amazing and skillfully put together. What upset me was the oppressive sales approach. You are allocated a member of staff to show you how the ships are made in the factory and then you are taken into the shop were the staff member follows you around, watching you like a hawk, trying to sell you a ship. You have no time to admire the ships or window shop, the minute you even glance at a product someone is on your back pressuring you into a sale. I lost my sales girl and left her with my partner but no matter, there is always someone else to harass you into buying something. I did feel sorry for her as it was obvious she was on commission and the sale was important to her. I hate this type of sales strategy so I got out of there fast. I might have bought a bit of jewelry if I was left alone to browse.

I have purchased several items from Voilers in October of last year and to-date, I still cannot use what I have purchased because the damaged pieces are not fixed. This is a clear case where once they get your hard-earned money, very little is then done to remedy any problems - obviously you will be told very differently on purchase. I am not one for complaining - but having spent a considerable amount of time on trying to resolve the issue (I am even willing to pay for postage of the parts to be replaced!), I have now given up and binned the items. So buyers beware. Purchase at your own risk.

An amazing place, where the people make Tall ships by hand, and sell them in their shop, well worth a visit.

We could have skipped it. Theres no detailed tour of the model making. The 2 min tour is a sales pitch. The place is expensive. Not worth a visit unless you are really into collecting them.

We were on a cruise tour when we stopped at this business for a restroom break. Much to our surprise the business was focused on sale of their very fine model caravels, galleons, frigates, sloops and ordinary brigs which are constructed by five model builders who are located in the second story of the business. As a model ship builder myself I was impressed by the workmanship and attention to detail. The five model builders construct about 15 teak wood ships per month according to authentic plans from marine museums and specialize in 18th Century models although modern yachts and sloops are also constructed. Each artist seems to specialize in construction of the masts, anchors, canvas, hulls, and/or the complex rigging. The prices in the shop are negotiable but the prices area also fair. Definitely worth a visit if you are into model building. The shop also has non-nautical souvenirs for sale. There are a few parking places in front of the shop. Admission is free.
