- AndreaCoventry, United Kingdom16 contributionsAbsolutely stunning beachAbsolutely stunning beach and my rating is for that alone. The public section was busy and quite a thin stretch. The drop off into the sea was steep for people with limited mobility. Pity that the major hotels don't allow access to the wider more stunning stretches (unless you walk in the water).Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 10 December 2023
- Christophe JForest Side24 contributionsGo there if you are in the south of MauritiusOne of the best beach experiences of my life . You can have lunch or dinner at cap tamarin lots of options. Sharks don't think of Jaws but few marine life . Go there if you're in le morne. Kite suffers can be reckless sometimes .Visited September 2023Travelled with familyWritten 12 July 2024
- FS Taylor6 contributionsSunset and cocktailsNice place for some downtime on the beach here. Really looking forward to sunset cocktails on the beach at JW Marriott, Mauritius, with our friends at The Boathouse Bar. Tarun and Michael are taking good care of us on this trip. Swimming is great there and so is a walk along the beach. We also got the chance to see people doing kite surfing.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 18 August 2024

Unfortunately we had planned to spend a couple of hours at the beach to unwind & relax but it was raining, not overly heavy but enough to be annoying. It would be a good beach in better weather and a great spot to watch the sun set with a cold one. Maybe next time?

We wanted to climb Le Morne Brabant, whose trail was closed due to construction work. What was strange was that the security would have allowed us to climb for a payment of 1000 rupees, but we decided not to. On this occasion we noticed not only that the unpaved path to the parking lot is hardly passable with a normal rental car, but also that the beach is very dirty. A lot of rubbish, washed-up algae...there are much nicer beaches in Mauritius.

Le Morne is a beautiful and spacious beach. The sand is great, the colors of the water are great too, and the view of the bizarre Le Morne Brabant with its somewhat sad history is mystical.
Recommendation: the memorial for the slaves who threw themselves off the mountain, opposite the parking lot of the public beach.

Beautiful white sandy beach. Beautiful between ocean and mountain.
The orientation of the beach allows to be sheltered from the wind or on the contrary to be windy for the windsurf and enjoy a sunset.
We made a boat trip with Roman (+230 5713 3947), it was exceptional. 3:00 out. Swimming with dolphins, snorkeling, swimming with turtles and rays. Magic. All in a good mood, safe and at a great Award. You can go with your eyes closed we recommend.

My wife and I visited for the afternoon and found the beach and colour of the ocean breathtaking.
There is lots of broken coral in the sand, which can make walking barefoot uncomfortable, but from our experience this is common in Mauritius.
I’d certainly recommend a visit!

beach with a thousand colours, blue and water green that blend between the green of the mountain behind and the blue horizon of the sky. incredible. there are no words. I only have two regrets: not having done the trekking (because I'm not trained) and having done the seaplane excursion to see everything from above (including the waterfalls - optical illusion). in any case excellent excursion made by flic n flac independently by taxi. Optimal.

The beach is really beautiful, there is a large parking lot in front. There is a lot of
Windy in the afternoon so it becomes a paradise for surfers and kites. Etc.
But we were able to enjoy it in the morning.
On the other hand, plan your picnic because there is nothing there :( or we couldn’t find it.

Le Morne public beach is adjacent to LUX resort and then JW Marriott resort. Large parking area with changing facilities and toilets. Beach is beautiful blue/green with nice coarse sand. Plenty of area to layout without many people. Walk along the beach to LUX resort for a photo laying in the hammock in the water:). There is very little coral and few fish like most shore areas in Mauritius.
There are two other beach entry options: 1) drive about 500m past the public beach parking and there is a beach park entrance between LUX and JW Marriott. Plenty of parking on the road. 2) Drive past JW Marriott and there is another large parking lot with changing rooms and toilets. This area is best if looking for shelter from the strong wind. There is currently a new resort being built here. Lateral beach current is very strong for drift swimming along the beach.
Wake boarding, fishing, and photos of the mtn in background are fun.

Si .. l’acqua è bassa ma nonostante questo si può fare snorkeling perché si vedono i pesci facilmente anche vicino a riva. L’unica cosa è che se la giornata è un po’ nuvolosa e tira vento il mare è un po’ mosso.

Hi, where is the car park or how to drive there from flic en flac?
Written 7 October 2018
Use Google Maps which is easy to navigate. From Flic n Flac, head eastwards along Coastal Road to the main T-junction which connects to the main trunk road A3. Turn right at the junction and head southwards along A3 until it connects with the main trunk road B9. The general direction is still southwards. When you reach and past Coteau Raffin town, watch out on Goggle Maps for a right turn that brings you westwards to Le Morne. The road journey here offers sea view on your right side. You will reach a roundabout where there is a cluster of small shops and cafes on your left. Navigate the roundabout and head northwards. You will see the sea view on your right and a golf course on your left. Drive along with the perimeter of the golf course on your left, and soon, the road will turn southwards. Along this stretch, you will see the Le Morne Brabant mountain on your left and the sea on your right. You can stop at the public carpark and enjoy the public beach here. After a visit, you can carry on driving southwards past different beach resorts on your right. Keep driving until the end of the road where you will find a public carpark dotted with casuarina trees and the beach where kite surfers and wind surfers are enjoying themselves. Just follow the directions from Google Maps. Enjoy your trip!

Peut-on se balader librement sur la plage du Morne et passer devant l’hotel Dinarobin par exemple?
