A lot of traffic congestion to get both in & out of town. Our taxi dropped us at the harbour but by 50 minutes we were ready to go. The meat & vegetable markets were interesting with A lot of photo opportunities. The rest of the area we felt was simply a tourist trap

One of the very first shopping arcade in Mauritius. Beautiful location at the waterfront. Lots of designer clothing shops, food court, hotels, cinema, casino and pubs. Blue penny museums is located there. Used to be the most popular place to visit in Mauritius but it has pass by it sells date. Need a complete revamp. Had to compete with multiple... More

Situated in the centre of Port Louis, the Caudan actually offers ample shopping, quick meals, fine dining, the latest Bollywood movies and much more. Here's a gathering place for visitors and Mauritians alike. Local attractions like the Post Office, Aapravasi Gat and the Central Market are easily reached by foot.

On a lazy day when you have taken a break from the beaches and other attractions In Mauritius, you may plan a trip to this waterfront. It is a colorful place with lots of shops and restaurants around. Enjoy a coffee and sit back to soak in the ambiance of the place. I loved the umbrella alley. There is a... More

This area has some basic shops and a large craft market. It's fairly modern and has a nice view over the waterfront. There are quite a few places to eat as well. Parking is convenient and undercover.

Waterfront promenade itself appears from a distance to be nice, palm trees, benches, restaurants....but walk close to the harbour and all you see is lots and lots of garbage floating on the water. Went through one 2 story bldg, shops and restaurants, but entire 2nd floor businesses were closed. Don't really want to sit at a restaurant and look at... More

Not great dining experiences, cheap asian street food but overall a nice walk, with shops and cafe` to relax on a Sunday Afternoon.

The mall here has a good number of boutique style shops. Prices are slightly higher here than in the Main Street outside.Clean pleasant toilet facilities and many bars to have a drink. There is a sort of street flea market style of shops where the locals go and these prices are a lot lower. It is safe to stroll round... More

Maybe the time of our visit- February after the peak summer season was quieter but in beautiful balmy evenings many restaurants were closed. A food court in a shopping complex offered some options but disappointed that some floating restaurants were shut up. Shopping ok but standard not high. Lovely to be on a working harbour however.?
