My wife and I cycled around Katutura ( the Soweto equivalent of Windhoek ) guided by Anna ( who set the cycling venture up ) and her nephew Elliot. It was an eye-opening experience and quite wonderful. We felt totally safe on the roads, enjoyed the bike ride, and had some great conversations, particularly with children who fancied the bikes.... You can't experience namibia by only visiting safari tours and sightseeing. On my trip to Namibia which was organized safari tour I caught only a part Namibia which was its beautiful nature and wildlife, but no real interaction with the Namibian people. The tour offers an encounter with the true face of namibia. It let you have a more detailed... More

We met Anna who is the owner of katu tours and I was moved by her passion to make a change for women in Namibia and show tourists the other side of life here. Both she and her nephew Elliot were very knowledgeable and it was a very important part of our stay here. We learned a lot and got... More

Anna and her tour of Katatura is the best! Anna is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. She shares her wealth of information with you as you bike through the township and will answer absolutely any question that you have. You get to meet local people and experience a small bit of what life is like in Katatura as Anna shares her... More

I did this tour with my teenage girls and another family. It was great - Anna, the tour guide and owner of Katutours is super friendly and motivated and knows lots of information and stories about Katutura and Namibian people. And we visited the interesting places such as markets. Doing this by bike together with Anna felt absolutely safe, too.

Spending the afternoon cycling through the Katutura Township with Anna was the highlight of our time in Namibia. Anna was able to give us an indepth understanding of the dynamics of the culture and lifestyle of people living in Windhoek. Visiting the markets with her was also great fun for our two children as well. We thoroughly enjoyed cycling with... More

This is a completely holistic education on the history and current day of Katutura township. You will learn, see, smell, taste and enjoy. Anna is a sweetheart with passion and ambition for this location. Ask her for guidance to the local dams. They are well worth a visit. Give yourself as much time as possible on this easy going cycle.... More

Wonderful tour, one of the best things I did in Namibia - certainly the best thing I did in Windhoek. Without seeing this area, the capital can seem pretty bland and dull - with this tour, the place came alive, we found the heart of the city and were able to understand a bit more about how things work in... Anna is a true bundle of energy and passion, and will make the tour worth the trip itself. Had some really interesting discussions with her and learned a lot about the Namibian history. The bike tour itself is not that unique in an African setting, but it you want to experience the Township through a person with good intentions, this trip... More

Informative and fun day. Anna was really interesting to talk to and answered all of our questions about current affairs and history in Namibia. We got a good understanding of the area and how it fits into Windhoek. There was a good balance of residential and commercial areas to see. One tip - bring lots of water. With Windhoek's elevation...
