This is hard review for me to write because I have mixed feelings about my tour with Wild Dogs. First of all, the booking was brilliant. Chantelle was very helpful and patient with me. She ensured I was booked on the tour that suited my...More
The itinerary was great but overly busy. I would have liked a two night stay at some of the lodges as they were nice. The guide, George, was excellent at spotting animals - we saw loads. He was fun and flexible. But he erred on...More

Many thanks for your review of one of our accommodated safaris. We take all comments seriously, the good and the bad. It’s true, you are kept busy on safari, early mornings and plenty to see and do throughout the day. Namibia does have a lot...More
We did the 10 day Game and Deep South Tour. It could not have been better and the guides - Willem and Milner - were both brilliant. The organisation (thanks Elsie!), places we stayed, adventures we had were all excellent and I can't recommend Wild...More

You're most welcome! I don't like flying either - even though I spent an unconscionable amount of my time doing it!! - but the Vic Falls companies are good and safe; our pilot was an air force officer. Wild Dogs will take you to an agency they use run by a very loud, energetic woman who will book the trip for you. It's very easy. Oh, by the way, when we got to Vic Falls - and the guides didn't know this either, so hadn't been able to warn us; it was a fairly recent thing - there was NO cash anywhere in town. Everything had to be paid for by card, from the excursions to a cup of coffee. Apparently, when Mugabe was finally forced out his pals dashed to the banks and removed all their ill-gotten gains before their assets could be frozen. Result - no paper money for anyone, anywhere. They may have corrected the situation now, but it's something to bear in mind.
If the optional game drive is the one in the Kalahari, at the first stop, then yes, we did. That was the one on which we saw meerkats! It was also the one where a storm broke loose as we were driving back to camp, and since we were in the two front seats we took all the sand, rain and grit in the face. :) Also saw lots of giraffe on that one. And the Etosha game drives are phenomenal, we saw an incredible amount of animals and birds (I love birds!) I did skip one evening one because I was tired; instead I went down to the water-hole at Okakuejo and watched elephant, rhino, kudu and giraffe coming to drink with a background of the most stunning sunset you can imagine. Magic.
