We have been going with Comptoir des Voyages for more than 25 years now (Paris, France) and Venture Uganda Travel is their correspondent for this destination. We say very sincerely that this 12 day trip is one of the most beautiful that we have been on. The country is magnificent and aptly named the "Pearl of Africa", the landscapes and animals evoke the very essence of Africa and the population is particularly welcoming. However, the success of our trip has a lot to do with the organization which was absolutely perfect on site and the very person of our guide Joseph Kalanzi, who really did everything he could to make our vacation unforgettable.

Last month I joined a weekend trip to Kidepo Valley NP which had been organised by Venture Uganda. We had an amazing time with Alex and Michael, who were very knowledgeable guides and great company. Their birdwatching skills and their knowledge of birds are really impressive! We did a number of game drives through different parts of the park and enjoyed Kidepo’s diverse landscapes. Alex and Michael would come up with advice on how to make the most of the weekend, while also being flexible in adapting the programme to our preferences. I definitely recommend travelling with them!

What an Amazing trip!!! On the behalf of me and my family I want to THANK YOU Lesley and Michael again for our incredible “Three Generation” once in a lifetime “venture” with Venture Uganda. Our tour guide “ our friend ” Michael “ aka “Silverback” really made our trip the most memorable. He went out of his way above and beyond to accommodate some of the “ challenges” my family discovered living amongst the “live nature” of Africa.. Michael was also extremely informative and was able to answer all of our inquiries about the history, tradition, and unique cultural of Uganda. Matoke was an ongoing “ joking” topic “breakfast lunch and dinner”.; which I understand is the stable food of Uganda. It was not favorable to my family but I personal like it and basically all of the local food and have the “extra pounds/weight” to prove it. One of my personal highlights was being “ up close and personal” visit with my favorite animal MY Giraffes!!! There were obviously so many other highlights (visiting Esther in her home in a local village- the yogurt she made us was the best yogurt we’ve ever tasted , hands on basket weaving, galleries, and so much more... I must include the last day attending a local African dance show!!! Fantabulous!!!! ( and I Love yo dance so it was so awesome being invited onstage to join the dance party. I highly recommend Venture Uganda you too will have an unforgettable “venture”!!!

We met owner Leslie at the Harrogate Travel Fair. She convinced us this was the place to go and we were not disappointed. We chose from their list of itineraries. Our guide found us a fantastic list of animals and birds and we even walked close up to rhinos and saw the fantastic shoebird. All went well helped by the lots of useful information which helped us to prepare for our trip. Sending dollars by bank transfer was a worry at first, but there were no problems. There are some log drives because this is a big country, but we had a big, new comfortable 6-seater. Accommodation was good most had free wi-fi although often just in the main building.
