We dreamed of an amazing holiday, and it became the holiday of a lifetime. The destination Uganda has to take much of the credit, but Venture Uganda take a huge amount of credit aswell. Firstly the trip was designed by an expert in this wonderful country. Putting together our initial thoughts, interests and expectations into a tour that defied belief, somehow reading our minds to include activities that we may not have considered. This made the trip exceptional in its variety and in meeting our ìndividual interests. The team then proved invaluable during the Covid pandemic being understanding, flexible and supportive even down to the finances.
When the trip finally went ahead the expertise of the company shone through with a guide who became more of a friend than guide. Joining in with the amazing experiences and showing his own awe and laughter when the wildlife showed its true colours. He listened to our needs and expectations and ensured these were met at every opportunity. His knowledge of and love for his country was invaluable, but when needed we were left in the capable hands of other guides to share their individual expertise, who appeared to be hand chosen to ensure our individual interests were met.
Our guide stayed with us through the 3 week trip, allowing us to discuss plans in advance and being flexible and amenable to any small changes to itinerary that we decided to make.
The variety of experiences, animals, birdlife and scenery that Uganda has in abundance was brought to life by an expert team and guide. Nothing was ever too much to ask, and any queries were always answered and addressed promptly, from changing dates of travel, organising private boat trips at last minute, to day to day alterations in itinerary mid trip - nothing was too much hassle.
Meeting the owners of the company at the start and end of the trip was something special and above and beyond anyone's expectations. I am sure they loved listening to our stories of lion kills, Rhinos charging, inquisitive buffalo's, close scorpion encounters and gorilla babies, to name a few.
If you are planning a trip to Africa Uganda should be top of your priority list and Venture Uganda should be your first, and only, port of call.

Hello friends! Having booked just before Covid and been through a couple of postponements, you finally made it and I'm glad it exceeded expectations. Thanks for believing that my passion for Uganda was genuine and that I had a fantastic team who could deliver an amazing holiday. And thanks now for appreciating them. We should appreciate you both too, you have been patient and flexible and are such wildlife lovers that you have enjoyed all that Uganda has to offer - not just the headliners. It was a real pleasure to host you. Until next time... Lesley, guide Ronnie and all the Venture team.

Our 16-day trip through Uganda was full of truly exciting experiences. Michael guided us wonderfully throughout with deep knowledge and an enthusiasm for wildlife and insights into the history and culture of the people and the country we travelled through. And an infectious sense of humour. Highlights were the chimpanzees in Kibale, gorillas in Bwindi and Mgahinga, and golden monkeys. But there was so much more that we experienced which exceeded our expectations from Murchison Falls, through Queen Elizabeth NP and finally Lake Mburo, with a constant and, on the final evening, successful search for a Shoebill :-).

We spent over two weeks in Uganda and this was a truly unforgettable experience.
Uganda has so much to offer. Clearly the primates, especially the gorillas, are a big draw but the words captured by Winston Churchill in his 1908 book My African Journey ring as true today as they did then:
"For magnificence, for variety of form and colour, for profusion of brilliant life ... Uganda is truly the Pearl of Africa"
Whether it is primates, game, large mammals, birds, butterflies, culture, food (it's really good!) or scenery there is just so much to see and experience. Uganda really is like Africa concentrated all into one country.
It is worth sharing that the holiday was twice rescheduled due to Covid and then the outbound flights were cancelled three times due to the February 2022 storms in northern Europe. Throughout all the hassle Venture Uganda worked with us to adjust everything such that we didn't miss anything from our tour. During the stressful flight issues Venture calmly said not to worry and they would manage everything at the Uganda end, which they did brilliantly.
Once we arrived, the worm and genuine welcome melted all of the issues away and from then on we enjoyed one of the our most memorable holidays ever. Paul, our guide and driver, was nothing short of brilliant. He was constantly thinking about tweaks and improvements to our schedule on a running basis and as a result we added in many nice surprise visits, one example being a stop off at a community run honey farm.
The support team at the office were in regular contact with Paul to make sure all was running smoothly and that we were enjoying things. We had an opportunity to meet some of them on the trip which made for another special experience.
We can't capture here everything we saw and did, we can't even really summarise it in this short review, but we can say we have come away with some lifetime memories of wildlife, people, places and experiences.
If you are thinking of an African holiday, think Uganda. If you are thinking of Uganda please do at least contact Venture. You will have a brilliant holiday.

Simon and Emma, would you like jobs in our marketing department? This is such a great review, thank you so much. We are so pleased you had such an amazing holiday and saw and experienced so much. Paul is an excellent guide and we have wonderful staff in the office supporting those in the field.
You have been such lovely clients, through all the ups and downs of Covid and storms etc. But eventually, you made it and I think Uganda did not disappoint. We now count you as part of the Venture family and expect you back some day soon. There is lots more to see and do.
With thanks and best wishes, Lesley, Michael and all the team.

I booked my trip through Holiday Architects in the UK and I wouldn't change anything about what was planned. It was perfectly organized.
I saw such a wide variety of things, with each day getting better than the last. Seeing the gorillas was a life highlight for sure!
A special mention to my guide Ronnie who was so brilliant and kind. His professionalism and knowledge shone through. Itineraries can be the same with different agencies but the guide is what really makes your experience that extra special. The trip would not have been the same without him which speaks to the high quality of the team at Venture Uganda.
Thank you!

Thank you so much for this lovely review. I am sorry I did not spot it sooner. We have a great relationship with Holiday Architects and I believe we work well together. We just hosted one of their staff on a Ugandan safari as that first hand knowledge helps them to advise clients properly. We are grateful to have so many satisfied clients like you and I am pleased you saw so much wildlife including thrilling time with the gorillas. Thanks for appreciating Ronnie; I will surely tell him. Best wishes to you from Lesley, Michael and all the Venture gang.

I honestly don't know where to start, this trip was magical from start to end, everything was perfect, Venture Uganda organized my trip perfectly I had nothing to be worried about , just have to come and let the magic happen.
My trip start with an excellent communication by email with Philo, she was really helpful and available. My guide Franck is just the best , he knows Uganda like the back of his hand.
Uganda is such an amazing country really under-rated , the people, the landscape, the animals . I did a 8 days safari I saw all the animals you usually see in National Geographic (Lion, Buffalo, Girafe, Crocodile, Monkey, Gorilla, Zebra, Antilope, Pumba , Leopard...)
It was really a beautiful experience , I could talk about this trip during hours but I'm just going to end like this do not hesitate and go directly with Venture Uganda Traval they are just the best !!!!!

Wow, Axel, what a review. Thanks so much. People sometimes forget the team behind the scenes, in the office, who prepare our safaris, so thanks for appreciating Philo.
Yes, I think Frank knows every corner of this country - I am glad he was able to show you all you wanted to see, and more. So when do we see you again? 😜😜
Our best wishes to you, Lesley, Michael (Directors) and the Venture team.

Just on my way back from 11 days in Uganda organised through Venture Uganda. Three big points to make:
1. Why don’t more people visit Uganda? It’s amazing. It has everything Kenya or Tanzania has to offer plus gorilla and chimp trekking!
2. Venture Uganda were very well organised and professional. I would happily use and/or recommend Venture Uganda to anyone.
3. Our driver Ronny was the model professional. His ability to spot a leopard is unreal. 5 leopard sightings including with a kill on a night drive. Thanks again Ronny for a special 11 days. We can’t thank you enough.

Many thanks for your very kind review (not sure why my original response has not been published). I guess Uganda is still under the tourism radar but, as you say, it's all here and without the crowds. We are really glad you enjoyed your holiday and thanks for appreciating Ronnie - true, he's good. Thanks also for your recommendation. Very best wishes, Lesley, Michael and the team.

We have been going with Comptoir des Voyages for more than 25 years now (Paris, France) and Venture Uganda Travel is their correspondent for this destination. We say very sincerely that this 12 day trip is one of the most beautiful that we have been on. The country is magnificent and aptly named the "Pearl of Africa", the landscapes and animals evoke the very essence of Africa and the population is particularly welcoming. However, the success of our trip has a lot to do with the organization which was absolutely perfect on site and the very person of our guide Joseph Kalanzi, who really did everything he could to make our vacation unforgettable.

Thank you so much for your kind words. It was a pleasure to host you all and we are so pleased that you enjoyed Uganda. Thanks also for appreciating Joseph: having a professional guide is so important to the holiday experience. All the team at Venture wish you well.

Last month I joined a weekend trip to Kidepo Valley NP which had been organised by Venture Uganda. We had an amazing time with Alex and Michael, who were very knowledgeable guides and great company. Their birdwatching skills and their knowledge of birds are really impressive! We did a number of game drives through different parts of the park and enjoyed Kidepo’s diverse landscapes. Alex and Michael would come up with advice on how to make the most of the weekend, while also being flexible in adapting the programme to our preferences. I definitely recommend travelling with them!

My favourate part of my experience was the excellent service that we received from Leya from making bookings to welcoming us in Uganda and the entire trip. She helped us with transportation from airport to hotel and transporting us everyday to various places and also when ever we needed to change currency she helped us and always helped us with what ever we wanted. Definitely I will be coming back to Uganda using the same travel agent.
