Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Morgan and the entire 1000 Shades of Green Tour staff always go above and beyond taking care of our organization's needs in Uganda. We use them for travel to and from the airport and our location and again for our safari weekend. The staff are well-informed and friendly! I also appreciate that they support the See Them Grow organization that seeks to elevate education for the children of Uganda!

We had not been to Uganda, but Morgan at 1000 Shades of Green was recommended to us. He thoughtfully answered all of our questions and set up a fabulous trip with great lodges, superior guides and amazing activities. He happily provided options at various price levels to accommodate our budget. Our primary guide for the gorilla trekking days near Kisoro, Jackson, was perfect! We loved him. Excellent English. He knows the area well. He was happy to alter our plans based on our preferences. Jackson constantly found small ways to make our trip special. For example, one of the people in our group is a veterinarian — once Jackson learned this he reached out to one of the local gorilla vets to come to our lodge to chat with her. He solved all of our problems with a smile.

I have recently got the priviledge to travel with 1000 shades of Green to murchison falls national park along with Budongo forest and ziwa rhino sanc. One thing I must tell that everything from start to finish was well organised, perfectly planned and followed inch-by -inch be it the planning, the punchuality ,the pick-up and the travel .Never in my 3 days I had a dull moment during the entire trip thanxx to the excellent tour guide Mr Joseph Lubega. He was very knowledgable with each aspects of the travel be it the history of the country, about the park not to mention about each aninmal and the birds whom I spotted.I wish them very best and looking forward to have more trips with them in near future.

My daughter & I traveled with this company for 11 days getting to explore 5 national parks as well as the rhino sanctuary, a gorilla & chipanzee trek! Our Driver, Nasser, was efficient, knowledgeable, courteous and fun! It was a busy itinerary but well worth it.
We booked our trip with Morgan who is very responsive to any questions you may have.
Uganda is beautiful, both culturally and scenically. The people are hard working and kind. Are there “issues”? Sure, but those are everywhere you travel!.
If you want a tour company that cares about you and are traveling to East Africa make sure you get in touch with 1000 Shades of Green

In the "pearl of Africa" - Morgan from the "go green safari" helped me expertly and efficiently to put a great trip together touring Southern Uganda including a savanna safari and gorilla tracking (while my wife was working in a medical clinic - i did the "spouse program"). They provided a very knowledgeable, kind and skilled "driver" (Joseph) for my 7-day tour - with him I had unique opportunities to experience close contact with the amazing Ugandan people, landscape and wild animals. See also excellent tour book: The Bradt Guide to Uganda by P. Briggs - It is an eye-opener for "first world" people. You see bare-foot children working in roadside mines crushing stones or carrying heavy water canisters along busy roads, etc. to luxury cars and hotels with electric fences and high walls. Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed this trip and thanks to Joseph - as he told me - I was able to get into a gorilla-tracking group that required "only" about 2-3 hours+ of forest path tracking to see the gorilla family with a gorilla newborn - a truly moving lifetime experience - the rangers apparently can put you in different "fitness and age" tracking groups so you don't have to walk 6 - 12 hours necessarily - ask for it.
Disabilities: For people with ambulatory impairments Uganda's public streets, sidewalks and buildings will be a great or impossible challenge- almost all are not handicap-friendly - I have seen only one tourist with post stroke sequelae requiring a wheel-chair, he was traveling with family/friends.
Caution! If you have respiratory problems or disease! Stay out of Kampala and other traffic centers - the air quality is really poor and problematic from the dirty diesel cars, taxis (boda bodas), trucks, buses or burning trash and agricultural fields, charcoal firing, etc.... The black plumes from the vehicles are a clear reminder - what gets banned from the EU and USA streets goes to Africa with its socio-economic disadvantages.
Suggestion: Maybe "go green safari" could be a leader and should consider using hybrid touring vehicles to be an example for others - or at least use newer technology diesel engines with particulate filters - even if this would increase the price, it would be a great contribution to environmentally-conscious travelers.
Talk with Morgan and Joseph to make your trip a life-time experience, safe

I have used Morgan and 1000 Shades of Green for approximately ten medical mission teams to Uganda. He arranges everything from pick up from the airport to hotel accommodations on the front and back end of our trip. I also book safaris with him. We have booked safaris at Queen Elizabeth, Mihingo Lodge and wonderful gorilla trekking tours. The drivers are knowledgeable, punctual and provide a safe and wonderful experience for all. I would highly recommend 1000 Shades of Green to anyone traveling to Uganda.

This company was awesome. Reliable and punctual. We had a large group on a medical mission. They arranged pre and post destination hotels. They arranged safaris for us on the weekend. The rates were extremely reasonable and the service top notch. I would definitely recommend using them for a worry free trip to Uganda.

I recently traveled to Uganda and Rwanda using Volcanoes Safaris (AMAZING COMPANY BTW) and I did not use this company. However, 1000 Shades of Green are using one of my Golden Monkey photos on their site without permission. They have actually cropped the photo to take my logo out but some of it still appears. I have requested twice that they stop using it or contact me to discuss proper licensing but have not heard back. I spent a large sum of money on this trip, the picture was taken with a $7500 lens and yet they continue to use my image free of charge. What kind of company steals photos and uses them to promote their business?
