I had the best trip ever with my friend with Love Uganda Sasfaris. George, our tour guide had such vast knowledge on many tour places we visited with so much history on both animals and plants yet so humble and respectful. The company provided us with wify modem even in our tour van at a budget friendly package, wow! We truly had such a fantastic time. I would definetly recommend from Canada here to use Love Uganda Safaris while on their tour guide to Uganda. Thank you Robert and team.

Love Uganda Safaris arranged our 7 days gorilla and wildlife family safari. We were four people I, my husband, and our two daughters, and everything was amazing from the guide (Joseph), the accommodation, the car, and the trip at large. Uganda is just a gifted country, we enjoyed seeing the wild animals on a game drive in Queen Elizabeth, and the gorillas in Bwindi national park. Thank you so much Love Uganda Safaris, I will look forward to booking more safaris with you

We loved our 1 day safari trip to Jinja. First of all we did zip-lining above the Mabira forest, where we had an amazing view. Then we did quads in Bujagali, a super recommended experience, because we could see little village and the river Nile. The last activity was a visit to the source of the Nile, where we also could see a lot of animals such as birds, monkeys…
I absolutely recommend love Uganda safari’s for the treatment received and for the hospitality!!

As a family, we did a 9-day tour that we put together ourselves. Our guide Joseph was warm-hearted, funny, accommodated our wishes, drove us safely through the whole of Uganda and did the most spectacular game drives with us! His son was there as an intern and we grew together as a small traveling family. We had a perfect vacation - we would go back anytime :))

We had an amazing time with Love Uganda Safaris during our one-day trip to Jinja. We did zip-lining in Mabira forest and continued to quad biking in Bujagali and consequently visiting the source of the Nile. Our guide - Joseph was really knowledgeable and answered all our questions. We felt very comfortable and safe with him. The planning was really good as it was made sure that we have more than enough time at every attraction to enjoy the views and adventurous.
We would really recommend!

Review title

Thank you so much Love Uganda Safaris for making our safari in Uganda memorable. I traveled with my wife and our two daughters on the 7 days gorilla and wildlife family safari and the amazing thing I got from this company is that they give back to the community by giving a percentage to the home of Orphans and Vulnerable children. We visited these children they give back to in the home and I was honestly touched by the work that Love Uganda safaris do.

My friend and I had a chilling moment at the source of the Nile. I had never gone there before. Love Uganda Safaris team made it a point to take us through. And most importantly, the cost of the tour was very fair compared to other agencies that we had consulted first.
I loved the boat cruise. It was amazing!

We look forward to traveling with the company.

We did a 9 day tour of Uganda (7days) and Rwanda (2days) with Love Uganda tours and I would not recommend you to tour with them mainly due to professionality issues which I explain below in detail with honesty. I also must add that my husband and I are avid travellers and have visited over 50 countries, and this has been the most expensive trip we ever did. We paid 4700USD to the safari company for a 9 day trip (actually it was a 8 day tour in practice) and the service we got absolutely did not justify the price.

When we were first greeted by the guide and the driver the frist day of our trip, they were half an hour late. Well, normally that is absolutely no problem. But when you are waiting in the dark in a foreign country at 6am in the morning this was absolutely not fun.

Knowing that old US dollar bills have a worse exchange rate in Uganda, before the start of our trip, I asked my contact at the tour company, Coleb, whether bills from 2006 onwards were accepted. He said yes. So I prepared bills that were from 2006 and onwards and gave it to our guide just when we started pur trip. Before leaving Kampala our driver stopped by a Forex exchange office so the guide could change the US dollars to Ugandan Shillings. We went around multiple other exchange offices and they told us that they changes the money. However the day after our guide came to us when we were having dinner and said they got a bad rate for the 2006 US dollar bills and whether we could pay for the diffence!! We firmly said no and he kept explaining why we should pay. Eventually we did not have to pay for the difference but our dinner disturbed.

The second problem happened at Queen Elizabeth National Park, at Parkview resort. Before our trip I checked all the lodges we were going to stay at to make sure they were good places. Parkview resort indeed look very nice. When we arrived, we were not given one of the nice cottages advertised on the website of the lodge but a really small and ugly room on top of the hill (this type of room did not exist on the website of the lodge). The shower in the room (even just with cold water) was not working! The hotel staff suggested to bring a bucket of wate to shower with! We suggested if we could use another room to shower and they took us to the nice cottages to shower. I saw my husband angry at people just a few times during the 10 years I have known him. He was really upset that we were put in a room that was not the same as advertised. After taking showers in the cottage, we had to go back to our room in the dark. Next day they put us in the cottage rooms. The situation was fixed, which we were happy about, but again, this created an unpleasant situation during our valuable vacation time and for one night we had to sleep in a terrible room (even though we paid for it).

On the 8th day of our 9day trip around Uganda and Rwanda, before crossing over to Rwanda, we really wanted to do a coffee tour at Kisori, Uganda (which we would have paid extra since it was not in the original program), even though we asked our driver 3 times saying that we really want to do this tour he firmly rejected saying that we have no time. As soon as we crossed the border to Rwanda he said Rwanda is 1 hour behind timewise (which would have made it possible for us to do the coffee tour). So that day we had more thab enough time to do the afternoon activity in Rwanda and came to our hotel early missing the coffee tour we wanted to do.

One of the main reasons we organized our travel as a private one is that we like to be independent and do things on the way as we travel. In general, wrong estimation of time and not letting us know about the correct arrival times and distances was a big problem that made us miss things we wanted to do.

Our driver always wanted to take us to the hotel first for no reason even thought we asked if we could go to the activity first and check-in to our hotel later. Only 1 day we insisted to first do the activity first and check-in to our hotel later and he was very rude to us.

The worst happened on the last day of the tour. Our driver and guide did not arrive at our lodge to pick as up at 8am as they promised. We waited there for 2 hours without getting an information. Then we called the tour company to ask why they did not pick us up. They said the car was broken down and we had to wait. These kinds of things happen which we completely understand but then we expected the tour company to come up with a suggestion (which they did not). We suggested them to provide a taxi service to Kigali (since they were suppose to take us to Kigali that day) and they did not agree to do that. We waited for 4 hours (because every time we called them they said they will be there in 10 minutes but they never arrived, so we were fooled) and eventually had to arrange a taxi (which we paid for) with the help of the hotel staff to go to Kigali.

Overall, I completely recommend Uganda as a destination since it is a beautiful country with very nice people but do not recommend you to see the country with Love Uganda Safaris.

Hello Zeynep. Thanks for the feedback, and for travelling with us. Firstly, we would like to make it clear that as a company we tried to make your trip as smooth as we could for you and your husband Thomas, but all we got back is such a bad comment; On the issue of delaying to pick you up on the first day; we had asked to meet you the previous day when you arrived in Kampala, so we could identify the location of the hotel and discuss the itinerary ahead of the trip, something you resisted, and said there was no need to meet you. And you went ahead and booked for yourself an unknown apartment, and you gave the guide a wrong name of the apartment after rejecting a hotel that we had recommended for you; the reason our guides spent almost an hour looking for you in the morning. Sincerely, the services we offered to you were far much more than the money you paid on top of the many extra activities / services we added; just try any other company and compare; we offer the most competitive rates in the region - just compare 4,680 USD for 2 people in Midrange accommodation, for a trip of 9 days Uganda & Rwanda!!!! In your inquiry you made it clear that you needed a super budget trip, but if you look at the lodges where you slept, and the vehicle you used, they were all standard at similar cost – Lodges like Park view safari lodge, Le’ Bambou gorilla lodge, and others, these are all mid range lodges; and on top of that you kept demanding for many other services that you never paid for;like a trip to Lake Nkuruba, Beers, etc, these are some of the services you never paid for. Regarding accommodation, in park view safari lodge you paid for a budget room, but you demanded for a luxury cottage which was 250 USD, and we had to change the booking so the next night you slept in a luxury cottage at the cost of the company; In addition to this, in Rwanda, we were clear that you had to pay your own accommodation, something you rejected intentionally and after serving you with a reception juice, you appreciated by causing chaos at the lounge, disorganizing fellow clients and the lodge staff and again we had to meet the costs of your accommodation on top of the little money you paid. About the bad Dollar rate, we met all the costs, and exchanged them as small bills and made a loss of almost 1 million shillings. And we had to explain to you not because we wanted you to pay for the loss, but to simply understand what was going on. During the dinner, the guide was briefing you on the next day’s programme, not the dollar issue and that’s the day you had to transfer from Murchison falls national park to Kibale national park, so briefing was necessary. In your inquiry, you made it clear that you needed a budget trip, with basic accommodation and basic facilities, and that’s what you actually paid for; and we told you in advance that you will be staying in a budget room at park view lodge, something you agreed, and on reaching at the lodge, you complained too bitterly at every one, in presence of other clients and you were so rude at the hotel staff, ended up creating a terrifying atmosphere at the lodge; to calm down the situation, we had to incur another cost of changing you from a standard room to a luxury cottage. About time; as a company and as per the laws governing the land, we are given specific times that we have to travel with the clients in national parks and on road; therefore, our driver was mindful of time, that’s why he would reject extra activities that were not included in the itinerary, especially inside the park where it’s risky to travel late evening; In addition, there are a number of extra activities / services that we did, and you never paid for them, like beers, visiting Nkuruba crater lake in Kibale, and even you were driven to the coffee shop, and you had time, where you bought coffee and other stuff; but time couldn’t allow you to do a coffee tour, though you went to the coffee shop, and don’t forget it was on the same day you had to cross to Rwanda, so we were catching up with time to clear at the border and as well had to do an evening cultural tour at Ibyiwachu cultural village and later check in at the lodge; and the rules of driving are very strict – only 45km/hr, so we had to catch up with all these activities before getting late, so we don't understand which extra time are you talking about as the day was already occupied. Yes, we agreed the vehicle got a mechanical breakdown in the morning, and we (office)) kept in touch for the entire time the vehicle was being repaired; we explained clearly why the vehicle was not arriving in time, before you lost your temper and threatened to damage the hotel; up to the extent of scaring away the staff and your husband, Thomas (whom you slapped) as he was trying to calm you down. The lodge staff and other clients had to run away from the lodge and kept outside as you threatened to hurt them. In addition, the guides tried their best to get the vehicle fixed and returned to the hotel just in time to transfer you to Kigali, even before the taxi came. When our vehicle later came, you intentionally rejected to move in, and your husband – Tomas picked the suit cases and waited for more 30 minutes before the taxi arrived. We had to explain to the lodge management about the situation because they had decided to open up a case against you for insighting violence and insulting everyone at the lodge; we are now at the verge of losing partnership with most of these lodges where you slept, because of your threats and have already sent bad reviews to our office about you, and we had to provide explanations for your mis conduct and endless threats. Most hurting, is the way you used to insult your husband Tomas in the vehicle time and again, something that made our guides feel uncomfortable and insecure; they were all under terror because of your bad temper. In conclusion, Love Uganda safaris has been offering and still offers friendly and professional services at the most competitive rates for the years we have been in operation in Uganda and east Africa; you can read most of our reviews from past clients , they are all excellent. All in all, it is only your bad temper that messed up everything; your husband, Tomas would have enjoyed the trip.

We travelled to Uganda in December 2016 and it was one of the most memorable trips of our lives. Love Uganda Safari truly made every effort to make sure we enjoy our stay. Uganda exceeded every expectation we might have had. Delicious food, breathtaking landscapes, kind people and professionalism throughout. Our main goal was to see gorillas and of course it was a highlight of our trip but Queen Elizabeth and Kibale also left the best of memories. When we were choosing a company emailed over 30 safari companies in Uganda. We chose Love Uganda Safaris because they were kind, did not pressure us and answered every inquiry we had. They were actually among the lower end companies still offering luxury service. We went with them and did not have a single regret about not hiring one of the renowned luxury companies. The key to a successful trip is professionalism, safe vehicle and both reliable and knowledgeable guide/driver. We always felt safe, taken care of and had the best luck all the way. We found chimps in just 5 minutes and only walked about one hour for Gorillas. If you would like to spend your energy admiring these beautiful creatures instead of aimlessly walking around forests for hours -go to Nkuringo. Nkuringo Gorilla lodge is simply fantastic and you wouldn’t have to go very far to interact with wild gorillas. We would suggest to request Del as your driver and Israel as a guide. They are the best. Thank you Love Uganda Safari for showing us Love in Uganda!

The Love Uganda Safaris team organized us an amazing safari experience. We were a group of 34 young people, and the agency organized us an excellent plan, with accomodation, meals, transport, and the most important thing, with amazing views and the chance to see plenty of beatiful animals. I recommend 100% the Love Uganda Safari agency.
