This is a monastery on the way to Punakha. We stopped here for a few minutes while going to Punakha. Nice paintings in the monastery.

we stopped by on our way back from Punakha and is was a well worth it. the ancient Thangka paintings are beautiful and so are the frecoes. not many people visit here so it is relatively quiet.

Hong Tsho Goemba is a monastry located on the road from Timphu to Punakha. It is not known by tourists and hence you will need your guide/ driver to take you there.

We were returning to Paro , when the guide took a detour and showed us this ancient temple , with an interior rich with very old and beautiful tangka on its walls , in a silence interrupted only by the chanting of a monk .

Its a good place for tourists as its not crowded and you will rarely see any tourists visiting this monastery. You have all the time to yourself and the caretaker will take you around the monastery himself thus giving you an extra service not offered...More
