Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is the main and largest town square in Thimphu. We stayed in a hotel that is only 15 minutes away from this square, so every evening we had the opportunity to go here by ourselves. All buildings in Bhutan have elements of the traditional architecture, which is rarely seen anywhere in the world. Around this square there are many shops, where you can buy the traditional and Buddhist souvenirs. We also went to one pub on the square, where we tasted Bhutanese brandy called "ara". The contact with the locals was impressive - everyone is very kind, helpful, smiling and they all spoke English quite well.

It us a square with many commercial activities. Toustist can go around the square to look for their local souvenir or food & beverage. Ask for discount if possible.

The square is an interesting attraction in structure but the opportunity has been missed to make this a true visitor attraction. Parts of the square are in dire need of repair - some of the paving underfoot is dangerous to walkers. During our three day stay the attraction of the square was seriously marred by loud music blaring for no real purpose and by packs of dogs roaming around barking. This area requires some thought of ways of making it a more attractive feature of the capital city.

The Clock tower itself isn't anything special but it right in the centre of the small city with some shops, restaurants and basic amenities. We found a nice little food joint place right next to the tower (serves good momos).

Other than the clock there is nothing special to see in the square. The clock is just an imposing structure in the area.
