Dipak was really good and full of fun and humor before and after the paragliding flight. I had a great time flying and having amazing views on the annapurna mountain range aswell as phokara. The communinication with the company itself before and after the flight was perfect.

Incredible experience. My pilot Dipak was so thoughtful, going exactly as wild or as calm as I wanted. I was a bit nervous but Dipak made sure I felt comfortable and safe. It was also a lot of fun, and I got an amazing amount of photos and videos afterwards.
Thank you for making this possible for me!

Dipak is exceedingly capable, fun and charming, good at letting you know what to expect, very experienced, and all around delightful. Best paragliding pilot ever!!! Blue Sky is great, from the office staff, to pilots and drivers! Professional, welcoming, and great at providing the best experience you could hope for!! Can't wait to go again!!

I signed up for the beginners paragliding 5 day course in October 2012. I had actually intended to do all 15 days of the beginners course to get my license. I had a terrible experience and ended up quitting after 3 days. I don't normally quit anything so this was a very big decision to make, but based on the quality of their equipment and instruction it was an easy decision. There are many other paragliding places in Pokhara, many of which don't have websites and I can't believe any of them would be as bad as Blue Sky:
* Poor Equipment - They never had the right equipment available so about 50% of every day was spent waiting around to swap with somebody else. The equipment we were given wasn't the right size and sometimes was old and water damaged which meant it wouldn't inflate properly.
* Poor Instruction - They were trying to train some local Nepalese guys to be instructors and these guys couldn't teach at all. Very mixed English and just no ability to instruct. Every classroom lesson was just a lot of confusion. Also, we had 4 different instructors swapping in and out and it was clear that none of them knew what the others had or hadn't covered.
* Overcrowding - They had way too many pupils which meant that a lot of each day was wasted sitting around waiting for transport or for the instructors to come back. On 1 day, I spent 3 hour sitting on the side of the road just waiting with nothing to do and no access to equipment.
* Basics not covered - They messed up explaining the 8 point or 5 point safety check on day 1 and then at no stage did they ask me if I knew the safety check or reminding people what it was.
They admitted to all these things but then somehow refused to give a refund. I don't understand how someone can run a small business that way. But there's so many paragliding schools in Pokhara I would recommend trying any of the other places.

My husband says: in every way, wow! From the first step off the mountain in Sarangkot till you're back on the ground on the other end of Lake Phewa. If you go, take the longer flight (1 hr). It's worth every penny. His pilot took him up to 2800 m between the prey birds and at some point, into a cloud. Blinding experience :-). When above the lake the pilot suggested to do some 'stunts'. Stunning experience :-). If you don't fly like me, it's worth to go up to Sarangkot with the group to experience the anxiety of seeing your husband running of a steep mountain and taking off into thin air -:).

Myself and a friend booked a tandem paragliding flight with blue sky last week and the whole experience was an utter letdown and a massive disappointment- not to mention a waste of money.
When we booked the flight there was no mention of insurance or any sort of health related questions. The bus that came to collect us from the lakeside office was 45 mins late which messed up the rest of our days plans.
When we got to the take off site the first words my French instructor (Fabrice) said to me was "I not speak English" hence I had absolutely no idea what he was saying when he explained take off procedure etc and felt quite unsafe.
My instructor smoked right up until we took off and straight away after we landed. I had booked a 20-30 min flight and after 15 mins of extremely low altitude flying (literally just above trees) we where down. The instructor was totally disinterested and just acted like he couldn't be bothered.
The instructors with other companies took clients right up above the mountain and even did some tricks above the lake before landing. Another of them said to my instructor, (who had went to sit away from me to smoke again,) "next time you try harder."
In short i wouldn't recommend this company at all. The English level of some of the instructors is low to the point of being a safety hazard. The company takes that many trips the instructors seem very demotivated and have become sick of flying ever grater numbers of tourists down the hill.
We also paid an extra fee to have photos taken inflight. My instructor never even told me he was taking them, so in every one I'm looking away from the camera- another waste of money.
Try a smaller company and do some research before hand on your pilots as with many companies you can request a specific pilot to fly with. I'm sure other instructors at blue sky are not as bad as mine however I can only rate my experience with the company based on the one I had.

I took a five day course, which first took us up into the hills 2 hours outside Pokhara. The weather was perfect as it often is this time of year, and we were able to take 2 - 3 great flights each day. The Wing was a new Bruce Goldsmith Design you may recognize, in perfect shape.
Being outside Pokhara to fly a great bonus: no congestion and great take-off and landings. Our first nights were at Babu Adventure lodge, a unique, isolated hilltop you can fly directly from. And as Babu was in residence, the first and only pilot to fly from Everest, an added and unexpected bonus with some amazing stories.
Instructors Damodar and Bhuddi are both internationally experienced pilots and instructors. A great mix of encouragement, realism, safety and emotional support as our flights got progressively higher, longer and more challenging, finishing with a long morning of ridge soaring and thermaling.
Our second venue was based at the scenic Newari village of Bandipur east of Pokhara. A great setting and take-off just above the village that is a good destination in its own right.
While some may be hesitant taking instruction in Nepal, this confirmed both a very high standard (based on my previous experience in France and USA) and unique and memorable flights you won't get anywhere else in the world.
Balanced with two great guides, meeting a host of other pilots along the way and some short treks atop very large hills to launch from, made for a very memorable and enjoyable experience.

We went tandem paragliding with Blue Sky and had an amazing experience. Hotel pickup, dropoff and a cdrom with all photos and videos were all included, for a great price! Friendly staff, always felt safe.

i did, I still cannot beleive it but I did it. I was really scared to do paraglsding but I wanted to try once in my life. I have to thank Blue Sky for the amazing experience they allow me to live in complete safety. From start to finish you feel a sense of security and professionalism around you. From the lovely girl who takes your booking to the instructors. A special special mention to my instructor Damodar, a top class instructor in Nepal (probably the best instructor in Nepal) who made my experience not only possible (without him I would not have done it) but incredible and fantastic. Thank you again everyone and book paragliding with Blue Sky withouth hesitation, they are simply the best.
