One of the most rewarding experience as it was my first ever rugged trek. 3 days cost us 135$ each inclusive of the guide and transpo from Kathmandu. We took a micro van to pokhara 6hrs drive. Then 2hrs taxi to nayapool. From nayapool we hired a jeep for an 3000nrp to ulleri. Then the 7hr trek officially starts. Mostly up hill climb. We reached Ghorepani and stayed for the night for rest before the 5am trek to poon hill begun. It was well worth it.

Poon Hill is about four-five days trek from Pokhara if you start your trekking at Birethanti. You can hire a jeep or taxi from Pokhara to Birethanti. The first day of the trek is almost entirely uphill. Depending upon how slow (or fast) you want to do this, you can reach Ghorepani on second or third day. Poon Hill itself if about 30 minutes walk from Ghorepani, where one can observe amazing golden mountains during sunrise, which is this trek route famous for. You can either come back the same way or go to Ghandruk and spend a few days in this typical Gurung village. Poon Hill trek is a tea house/lodge trekking. The food along the Trek is simple, the views are wonderful and you can get a feel of Nepalese mountain life. Definitely worth the money and time

This is the best place for sunrise watching and the mountain ranges of the Himalayas. Entrance fee is NPR 100 for foreigners. We had to wake up at 4.30am, then start trekking at 5am upwards using stairways for about 300-400meter from Ghorepani, which took us about 45 mins to reach. Torch is required since walking in the dark before sunrise. Walking pole can be useful too. There is a viewing tower where visitor can climb up for different views and vendor selling tea. Since it was winter when we were there, it was -7 degree celcius. Hence, warm clothing, gloves, hats and scarves, plus good walking shoes are essential. Excellent views from the top at Poonhill and really worth it to wake up early and the climb up for 45 mins to an hour.

We have enjoyed Poon Hill twice, as we reach Ghorepani early afternoon and still full of energy we decided to climb to the hill to see the trail as the next morning we would start at wee hours even we could already see the clouds covering the Hill. From lower Ghorepani it took as around 50 minutes as were stopping for the pics. From the upper part is about 10 minute shorter. Unfortunately we could not see the sunset or the view of Himalaya range, at least we could enjoy the serenity of the place without the crowd. The next day, early morning, at around 4:30 we started to climb up accompanied by drops of rain, thunders, lightnings and cloudy sky with hope that the weather can change. Some people gave up and return back. At the half way we paid 100 NPR. At the time we reached the top it stopped raining and the clouds started to disappear, the sky got clear. The tower and the platform was already busy but still at Covid time less people than at pre-Covid time in high season. The views were breathtaking and awesome. If you are cold or thirsty there is a small booth with tea, with a little but inflated prices.

Relatively easy 45-minute sunrise climb up steps from Ghorepani, and very worthwhile. Wait until the crowd dissipates, buy a cup of coffee, and hang out for a while in the morning sun. Some of the best views in the Annapurna, prayer flags, and generally chill folk abound. Highly recommend, A+.

Incredible experience. Amazing views, lovely locals in the mountains and surprisingly great food throughout! Our first ever trek and definitely one to remember. Would recommend a tour guide if it's your first trek as our one made our whole experience he was amazing. If you book locally its much cheaper than booking online

We did this little hike of 4 days (Nayapul to Ghandruk) after our 17 days hike. It's quite nice, especially if your time is limited and you would like to get a nice view of the Annapurna range. It's quite touristy so it should be fine for everyone to do this hike.

We had a ten-day trip in Nepal visiting to Porhara and Kathmandu. We had a great and incredible trekking trip heading to the Poon hill. We enjoyed the stunning sunrise view on the mountain. Specially we want to thanks for the leading by the local trekking guide, Bikash, and the porter helping us during the trip. With their nice advice and helpful information,we had a safe and enjoyable trip within these ten days. We hope to come Nepal again and feel the beautiful nature environment by joining other trekking trip from them.
