Though far, transportation to and fro the museum is very easy, either by bus or cab (the later can be booked also on the way out, information counters are very helpful.) This place can get very crowded so be very patient. Lockers are available for free to leave huge bags, and water containers (they let you leave water containers behind).... More

This place was fantastic. The array of pieces exhibited was amazing and the displays were all kept in pristine condition. There was a good mumtimedia exhibition while we were there, which my 6 year old son loved, especially as it had some interactive exhibits and a short animated film. Transport from Shillin MRT station was easy and quick, and the... More

With the amount of history and knowledge this museum has to offer, it was definitely well worth the entrance fee. Even if you're not a history/culture buff, it'll surely mesmerize your it's probably the only place that collects and presents such a rich amount of Chinese history- a remarkable civilisation. Be sure to get the audio guide (if you understand... More

A great place to visit. Lots to see so allow plenty of time. One day was not enough so if your time if short decide what exhibits you want to see and get there early as it gets crowded. The gardens are also well worth a visit

I'm not a museum freak, so this visit wasn't originally on my schedule, but since weather didn't wanted us to go to mountains, we choice this museum. For English audio guide you need ID or quite high deposit, so don't forget to take out your ID when putting the bag to the bag room. Student discount available on ISIC. Chinese... More

A great collection or Chines artifacts - easy to see, traditionally but well displayed. The Porcelain collection and the art I thought amazing. Well organized and helpful staff allow a few hours to walk through the 3 floors.

The Palace Museum was originally founded in 1926 in the Forbidden City in Beijing. At the end of 1948 as the civil war between Nationalist government and the Communists intensified, the government sent about 600.000 previous objects to Taiwan.

A word of caution first. Allow at least 5 hours to get even a decent basic level of viewing. Probably even better, try and split over 2 visits. Three floors may not seem a huge amount, however they're large and contain a huge number of exhibits you won't want to miss. This was our third visit and - based on... More

Just the right amount of galleries. I've been to museums where there are so many galleries that it's overwhelming (think Louvre).
