There was a wedding so unfortunately we weren't able to see what's inside because of a wedding celebration. It takes 20-30minutes walk to get to this place make sure to be well hydrated.

This is another small Japanese style building. It is pretty small but nice to view. The best way to visit this museum is to have a japanese lunch meal here.

Classic Japanese layout internally, with tatami mats in the grand hall (visitors are invited to sit and rest on the tatami mats). Just ensure no drinks or food are consumed while on the tatami mats. This is Taiwan's first public bathhouse, built by the Japanese in the late 1890's. You can see a bathing pool (emptied of course) on the... More

There was next to nothing to see at this museum, unfortunately, and prices have gone up enormously. The building is attractive enough, but it's largely just empty rooms (with a few small displays on local textiles, etc.). The staff were largely absent when I arrived (they were hanging out together in the staff room, chatting and drinking tea and ignoring... More

This museum is next to the hotel we were staying; so makes it convenient for us to pay a visit. It is used to be a Japanese onsen hotel, and now it hosts tea rooms (where Japanese tea ceremony can be held), a restaurant serving lunch/afternoon tea, and displays works for local artists. The staff there is very helpful in... More

Although a little bit inconvenient to arrive on foot (especially in the summer when it's burning hot), the museum is a definite must-visit places in taipei. The atmosphere was just so surreal. We felt like we were in a japanese countryside. The museum is very well kept, staff are very friendly and helpful. The afternoon tea set is highly recommended.

A must-go place when you are in Beitou. The museum tells you about how Beitou came to be known for its hotsprings, etc. There is also a tatami area for everyone to take a rest at.
