As a frequest temple goer, i think this is the best in town. the art and drawings, curver and the woods are abosulutely amazing. this temple is not too crowded, you can find real peace in this area. confucious's temple is also nearby, and the wall written with 萬仞宮牆 is really cool. by the way there are many tasty street... Beautifully ornate and quiet. This temple is way less popular than Longshan temple and therefore you can really appreciate the serenity of the place and take time to soak in all of the detail of the architecture. And added plus is your photos will be of the temple itself versus a photo of other people taking photos. Visit both temples... More

Unlike other Buddhist Temples, this temple worships an ancient scholar Tao Wu in the North Song Dynasty era (960-1127 AD) who devoted his life for saving people through medicine. Local people now come pray in front of his statue for health. The temple is also a place to pay tribune to the an ancient legend Shen Neng (before 2070 BC)... More

You can combine this temple with the Confucius Temple since they are opposite each other. Forget the hyped up Longshan Temple and head here for a more serene and quiet temple experience along with beautiful architecture and decorations.

Bao-An Temple is good for those who want to immerse himself in the atmosphere of a tranquil and exquisite temple. It is, however, a must for those who love either art, architecture, history, or religion. Being local for a long time, I only made my first visit to this temple on November 19, 2016, accompanying two friends from abroad. I... More

This temple is charming, nested in a courtyard with sumptuous typical decorations! Almost empty (apart from the monks) so you can truly relax in this temple!

This Taoist temple is at least as beautiful as Longshan temple but it is smaller, by far less crowed, less touristic and really peaceful. I would say that it was the most beautiful temple we visited in Taipei. Its architecture, carvings and decoration are impressive and not to be missed. Would recommend combining the visit of Bao An temple with... More

I would put the Bo'An Temple near the top of my must-see places in Taipei. It is magnificent with a variety of amazing architectural details, carvings, statues, shrines, etc. Grab some incense sticks (drop a small token donation in the bucket) and send your wishes and desires up on incensed smoke to the gods.
