Learn the exquisite Traditional Art of Thai Fruit & Vegetable Carving with one of our own World Champion Professional Thai Master Carvers. Stop in for our half-day 3-hour basic class or join our full-day class which includes a complete Thai Lunch. Classes are fun and engaging for the whole family. Ages (12 and up) are welcome. ($85 USD) for our 1/2 Day Casual Carver Class and ($160) for our Full Day Casual Carver class. Lunch Included with our Full Day Class. Classes are taught in English, and language is never a barrier. Everyone learns at Siam Carving Academy ...and so will You!

My wife and I attended the Siam Carving Academy for nine days, taking the beginning, intermediate, and advanced carving courses from Wan Hertz. Wan is truly a master carver and a very patient instructor. She started us out slowly, and as our skills increased, challenged us with increasingly intricate tasks that kept us riveted to our work. When each day of class was over, we were truly amazed at what we accomplished under her guiding hands.
Wan and her husband, Larry, are very personable, and we greatly enjoyed visiting with them each day. They taught us a lot about the Thai culture. Wan took us shopping at the Chatuchak Market one evening after class, and spent a whole Saturday taking us to the floating market. One lunch hour, Larry gave us a tour of the local street food vendors, pointing the dishes and drinks that were especially tasty.
Wan is also a very skilled chef. Each day she made lunches for us that rivaled the best restaurants in Bangkok.
The Siam Carving Academy is located a convenient five minute walk from the Sutthisan metro station. The facility is clean and comfortable.
We had a fulfilling and memorable experience. We recommend it to anyone interested in creative and challenging Thai fruit and vegetable carving.

Doing this course was the best thing I ever did. Wan was brilliant in every way. She was very patient with me and I loved spending every minute with her learning new techniques. She's a fun person to be with and truly the best carver in the whole of Thailand. This is one of the must do things in Bangkok and you won't regret it! Look no further, contact her now and start your amazing journey in the world of carving! She will bring you to new heights and you will flourish in no time if you keep practising the skills she teaches you!

The whole booking process was a breeze and Larry took extra effort to advise me the direction to their mansion and even came down personally to pick us up. The experience with chef wan was amazing. She is indeed a Very talented chef and her work and patience are impressive. Under her close supervision and guidance, my husband and I managed to complete many many beautiful craving at our first attempt!!! The lunch catered are superb home cooked and nice and it just left us craving for more!!
If you are a beginner and think you can't do any craving, then this place will prove you wrong as chef wan is very patience and experienced and it just left us with boasted confidence and we will definitely come back again!!!

Visited Bangkok with friends about six months ago and phone recommendation went to the Siam carving Academy. I had a most Pleasant enjoyable experience and learned a lot about Thai culture and cuisine. The instructor was fluent in English was able to teach me many techniques and styles a ways to prepare food. It was quite enjoyable and of value as the price and I have since recommended it to many of my friends who have visited Bangkok. The next time in Bangkok I'm going to get an advanced course

This class will set up apart from other chefs. All the tools and information you need to make exquisite decorations from vegetables (tomato, cucumber, radishes, pumpkin, etc) and fruit you will learn. The teacher is so patient and creative. She never stopped creating new designs and never got tired of me constantly needing a lot of instruction.
Even if you are a home cook this is a great fun way to spend the afternoon and learn a skill. If you are a professional chef this knowledge will set you apart from other chefs. A knife and lunch is included.

We did the half day carving course with Siam Carving Academy while visiting Bangkok on our recent trip to Thailand.
A lot of chefs from all over the world are coming to Bangkok just to learn the art of food carving first hand from master carver Wan at Siam Carving. She's been doing this for over 30 years and has won endless awards in the field of food carving.
But, there is no need to be intimidated, we learned how to carve different vegetables in a fun filled and casual environment. It's perfectly suitable for tourists as well who are interested in learning a bit more about this thai tradition during a half day carving session.
All tools you need are provided and the hosts Larry and Wan will take good care of you and provide you with everything you need while you get your carving skills ready to impress your family back home at your next dinner party! We learned how to carve beautiful creations from tomatoes, cucumbers and carrots and can't wait to try it back home.
We are really happy for taking this class and can highly recommend it.

i stayed for 2 weeks in bangkok and i took a master carving course with Laong Wan Hertz, she is the best. i learned so much from her. Very patient and communicates in english. great stories...now i know how to carve..:) SIAM CARVING ACADEMY is Highly recommended.. You can stay in their apartment at a cheap price plus your classroom is just outside your room plus you are close to everything you need to get around bangkok. Thanks to Larry for all the help... i was one lucky student indeed... i Had a Great time!

I traveled from Italy for this course. Wan is the most patient and gifted teacher I never had.. Larry was so helpful for the logistic part.
Siam carving is the best way to learn carving fruit.

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Siam Carving Academy especially to Sir Larry Hertz for giving me this opportunity to be taught by Master Carver Laong Wan Hertz. Having her as a teacher feels like "A mother teaching her child how to carve" because she teaches from her heart. I am now conducting carving workhops in my country. It is all because of the knowledge and techniques that I have learned from attending their carving class.
