About
Siamese Cookery House was opened by Goong, Non and Nam, formerly of Silom Thai Cooking School. The trio opened their cooking school in a 100 year old house in a local neighborhood in Bangkok and have brought the same passion, warmth, and fun to their smaller and cozier cooking school. They have pledged to donate a portion of their sales to help the local neighborhood children and love to show students around the neighborhood during the local market tour. Students will buy fresh ingredients, then learn about local spices before making their favorite Thai dishes under the guidance of these professional teachers. Come and learn more about Thai food today at Siamese Cookery House!

My team did a cooking class with Nam as our team-building event. We expected it to be a good learning class but boy, we did not expect it to be so much fun! Nam is so funny and cracked so much jokes that we were having so much fun while having to "toil away". We took the afternoon class and so weren't expecting a market tour so we were really surprised that she took us on a very informative market tour and send us back on Tuk-tuks. We learnt a lot and really enjoyed the food that we cooked, and most importantly, really enjoyed ourselves.

Wonderful adventure with Jay. We went together to the market and bought the products, that we later used for the cooking. We saw a variety of things that we haven’t seen in other markets.
It was a wonderful experience especially because of our guide Jay.
He was funny patient and a good chef and teacher.
The food was delicious especially the sticky rice with mango!

I had a wonderful day learning about Thailandese cuisine accompanied by my daughter. Nammy shared with us her cooking skills and tips and she gave us the best of her: her cuisine, her taste and an unforgettable moment!
If you're looking to learn about Thailandese cuisine and be amazed, don't doubt in contacting the Siamese Cookery House!

Located in the less "touristy" part of Bangkok. Teaches authentic Thai cooking from scratch and introduces local ingredients. Market tour is great for those who want to see where the locals buy their food. Excellent and friendly teachers will make you feel right at home. Place is very cozy and away from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok. Overall a great experience. Would recommend this to anyone who wants to learn about Thai cooking.

Myself and my boyfriend had an absolutely amazing time at the cookery class. You start with a market tour if you book on the morning or afternoon classes. Our guide was incredible, so funny making us smile for the entire day. So informative as well and we really enjoyed going around the market with him.

When we got back to cooking it was amazing to see all the different ingredients used and try everything ourselves. We made 5 dishes which was amazing and got a recipe booklet at the end of the day so we could cook them ourselves at home.

We had an amazing day and we’re so so glad we chose this cookery school. If you’re not sure 1000% do it, you’ll enjoy the whole day.

We slipped out and let the kids sleep in after a tiring two week cross country trip. Met with Non and went to the colorful local market then went to the school. The teachers were excellent and the whole experience was very nice. If nothing else we ate super tasty authentic thai recipes that we made ourselves. Hopefully we can replicate at home for further enjoyment. Such a rich culture. Highly recommended experience.

It's three years now I felt in love with Thai food. And, as an amateur cook, I wanted to learn more about it. So, in one of my trips to South East Asia, I made a gap to get some Thai cooking lessons. After making an investigation, I decided to go to Siamese Cookery House, and I must say I really hit the bull's eye.
In few days I learnt a lot and now I can manage with many different dishes, but the most important thing was the experience itself. And, more precisely, knowing Chef Nam.
She picked us early in the morning to the market. She appeared with baskets for everyone, with bottles of water for us. In the market she explained every ingredient to us, something really necessary when you work with ingredients that are not the regular ones in your culture. We used the baskets she had brought to carry all the shopping.
Then, we walked to the "classroom" where we cooked differen dishes that we enjoyed afterwards.
All this, said like this, seems to be nothing outstanding, but the difference comes from the passion Chef Nam puts in everything. You can see her eyes bright as she explains, as she cooks (she's really amazing using knives, both for chopping or cutting, or cooking with the wok... you can't believe so much energy resides into such a tiny body hahahahaha). She's really inspiring and transmits passion, energy and, most important, joy of life. She's always smiling!!!
So, if you want to learn Thai cooking, don't hesitate to go to Siamese Cookery House. I'm sure you will not be able to find any better place for it. And, besides that, you'll also get a nice experience and a happy day.
A-MA-ZING!!!!

This was my favorite experience in Bangkok hands down. Non and Goong were the most pleasant hosts the entire time, joking with us and making us feel comfortable as if we were longtime friends. We started off at the market. Non took the time to explain each element of food and how it is used. When we saw live frogs being served he even offered us to have it in our food, which I did. The market was an unforgettable experience and getting to buy each item ourselves made the trip worth it.

At the studio, we sat intimately together on the floor to prepare each meal. It was a hot day, but the intimacy of sitting together and preparing each step was well worth it. No pre-made pastes here. Everything was made by scratch. The flow of eating and cooking worked seamlessly. Non stayed with us the entire time, joking and speaking to each of us in the group in our own language. What a charismatic guy! The two of them, Non and Goong really made the trip special. And we got a cookbook to try the food ourselves in the end. Really special experience.

Such an exciting and very engaging experience! The set up is very relaxed and homey! The chef instructors were warm, friendly, fun and very accommodating! The mango sticky rice is the best as well as the other recipes! Will definitely recommend this to my other friends who will be visiting bangkok soon! So loved it!

Among the different experiences you can do in Thailand, this has been the best. You learn a lot about Thailand through food. We started with a market tour where Nam, the teacher told us all the secrets about Thai food and how to buy the proper ingredients. We cooked 4 delicious meals, including the dessert. I would highly recommend this activity as a must do, especially at the beginning of your trip. Apart from the high quality of the course, Nam is an amazing person and she share her passion for cooking every single moment. I hope to join another class in the future.
