The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.

After all the hype about this park when it was first opened to the public, I expected more and found it quite underwhelming. Most of the trees are quite small and many of them are scrawny, weak or nearly dead. Even some of the larger trees that existed on the site before the park development have died (perhaps due to changes in the water regime). Due to minimal shade, the park is very hot during the day. The Skywalk is particularly hot. An added problem with the Skywalk is very limited exits once you enter above and start walking, so it's difficult to "bail out" without backtracking or continuing all the way to the end. That said, the park is very new and definitely "a work in progress." If efforts are made to nurture the trees in a sustained manner, eventually this park should be great. It's not there yet, but hopefully someday!

Unfortunately, during my visit today I witnessed a pair of south-asians tourists who thought it was an appropriate location to perform adult acts on each other.
Seen at approximately 14:30 - 15:30 on the raised viewing zone in the north zone, there was no guard nearby, the nearest was far and was fast asleep. I later came across a guard and let him know what happened but by then it was probably too late.
CCTV should verify my claim and they should be deported, to be honest. Disgusting animals.

First of all, this review is on Benjakiti Forest Park, not the old park next door.
Years ago I had written off this section of Bangkok as being devoid of green spaces, but benjakiti forest park has changed my mind. Benjakiti park itself (the old park) was nothing more than a lake with running/bike trail around the perimeter. The new park is basically a wetland, with ground level trails winding through and an elevated skywalk above. I spotted several interesting birds (species unknown sorry, not my area of expertise). One thing I especially liked is that you can walk along the elevated structure all the way to Lumphini park without the need to cross a single roadway. It's an interesting walk as well, with a glimpse at the old Bangkok. The place is still being developed, and I'm looking forward to watching the evolution of the park into a thriving wetland.

From Lumpini Park we came to this one via an elevated road. The first part is a two-level park with wildlife, you want to go along the bottom, or you want to go along the elevated route.
The second part is the lake, around which there is an embankment. You can ride a catamaran (no more than an hour) or a boat for free.
There are fountains in the center of the lake, beautiful lighting in the evening, next to a business center with a beautiful wooden panel

We arrived at our hotel in Bangkok early in the morning and decided to walk off a long flight. Having never visited the park on any of our other visits we thought we would go have a look. It turns out to be a wonderful quiet peaceful, green space in the middle of this large busy city. A huge man made lake flanked on one side by a huge modern convention centre. The park is now split into two areas - the old traditional park of plants, trees and lake and the new wetlands. Both are merged well and are both well worth a walk through. The wetlands have paths through them as well as an elevated pathway with viewing areas. There is also a skywalk called 'The Green Mile' which links Benjakitti with Lumphini park and avoids the traffic however it is difficult to find and even many of the locals we spoke to could not tell us where it started.

One of the lungs of Bangkok, a wonderful park which is very accessible and features a big lake.
We came not only for a walk but also to enjoy a bike ride; unfortunately the administration has left tons of signs on how to get to the bike rental place but omitted to indicate that there are no more bicycles in the park. What a shame.

This park is very large. Is the only entrance in the northeast corner?? I could not find an entrance on the south or west sides.
Written 11 April 2022
when are the opening hours? is there any restaurants there ? how long it will take to look around ? is there any fees entrance ?
Written 4 March 2018
The open hours are about 6am till about 8pm as it’s used frequently by runners, walkers and cyclists constantly.
There are restaurants at the top end next to the conference center and some good choices of food and drinks.
There is the usual street food stall on the outside of the boundary too, well recommend.
It’s 1.6km around the lake with many places to sit and relax and enjoy the view. Rent a boat or a swan pedalo to pass more time away. The sunset is also worth seeing from there. It’s all free as all the parks are.
