The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.

Visited here three times as my son loved it so much. It is such a fun activity and the staff are so courteous that they take special care. I just lazed around and got myself a couple of beers. Great place and nice vibe.

No problem hanging out all day here. Plenty to do! Decent Pub food although the music can be a little loud for my taste. A safe, fun place to bring kids in Bangkok without leaving the city.

Very very disappointed and angry. Phoned at 11am to book after reading reviews on here, was told no need to book as not busy. Arrived at 1:15 pm to be told no spaces until 4pm! After complaining to lady on reception we booked for 4pm and was told to wait upstairs until 1:45 in case of no-shows for 2pm. I questioned if it was worth it but ended up waiting anyway. At 1:45 went back and was told no spaces at 2pm and now also 4pm fully booked! Lady had not put us at 4pm as originally requested and we would now have to wait three hours until 5pm. To make things worse the receptionist, instead of apologising, tried to suggest it was not her fault, or it was our own fault, then just kept repeating "ok, thankyou" when I asked to see a manager. Not happy and WOULD NOT RECOMEND!

Thanks for posting your comments.
Again we apologise for the mix up with your booking, occasionally we do face issues with the language barrier and have been working hard to fix these. Now whenever we receive telephone or email enquiries we do advise that riders make a reservation as the number of walk-in riders can be unpredictable hour-by-hour and it always best to be on the safe side.
Unfortunately we did not have this policy when you visited us in June.
Hopefully next time you return to Bangkok you will come and enjoy a free ride with us as we discussed and agreed prior to this review...
I am sure one ride on the FlowRider will be enough to excuse the booking mishap...

so we went to the flow house, although the price of 750 baht for 1 hour was not cheap.
but
what we didn't know ( and they wont tell you before) is that you have one hour , but not alone.
there policy is up to 10!!!! people in this 1 hour , every time only 1 can be on the board and surf
so if u divide 1 hour to 10 people its what? 6 min. in total
my kids where there with 5 more people
so 7 people on this 1 hour
most of the time they had to wait until their turn will arrive
it was a very bad experience
i highly recommend you to avoid this place

Before writing this review, I took a look to others' one in range from terrible to average to see if their concerns match with mines. And it did.
First off all, the place is awesome, atmosphere is great, relax and friendly, you feel welcomed and walk-in really easily. The food is extra and well priced, promotion on chaang beer is great, and you can enjoy a foosball, a pool and a swimming-pool.
You DO really feel like you're at a beach spot !
Wave instructor are really pleasant and friendly, the training goes fast, due to the time management, but the instructor adapt to each individual and help them have the more fun possible on the wave. The aim here is not to have a personal instructor to teach you how to surf, but to have fun and enjoy the ride Safely. On that point, they do great.
But, the real thing is, what a poor schedule management ! I've been reading reviews from customers since 2012, and the concern is still the same, even if the management answer professionally to any of that complaint. It's not enough.
My tip is : Booking is useless, as the team do absolutely not manage the wave access in accordance to it, best is to walk in and wait for a less crowed period.
I explain my review, the last time I went to flow house, we started the session being 5 on a row and 6 on the other, after 20 min. people walk in and start their session on the same row ! So we end up 10 peoples by row, and, let's be honest, it's too much people and you know it, you got lot of reviews that said it.
Worst is that the people that walk in during the session, had only a half session on a crowded lane, but payed the full amount for the one hour session !
When I ask at the counter why they didn't tell the newcomers to wait for the next session (that was totally empty from 15.00pm to 17.00pm) or ask us if we do not want to wait for the next session that was empty when we arrive for the 14.00pm session, they just smile and answer: "we cannot manage the schedule."
So I'm pleased to read that the management comment that they train their staff to manage the time and allow the best experience, but the the fact is, either your staff do not attempt the training session, or they don't care, or they're under qualified, or you're lying and just put as much people as you can by session to ensure high profit at the expense of inclusion, fun and fair management.
Saying you have a lot of visit is easy as you're set up in a city with no other competing business and with a flow of million of toursits each year.
But what about the returning customers ? Probably most like me, they will take the membership and learn from their mistakes to set-up a better experience the next time they come by theirself, because, it's sure, it's not the staff that gonna help for that.
At the end, I truly recommend that place, for the instructor on the wave really deal as they can with the flow of people on the lane, are competent, and carefull with everyone from child to senior. Just be ready to maybe spent one hour around, drinking a bear and chilling, while "waiting for the good wave".
Cheers.

If you can pick up a promotional leaflet, eg, inbhotel receptions, you can get an hour at the flow house for about £10, including a coke and packet of seaweed strips (yum yum). The times are specific, usually the 1st hour of opening in the morning. The advantage of this is that the place is pretty quiet and you get more time to surf. You take turns with whoever else has turned up, so it's not a solid hour. There were only three in our group, hut the one after had 6. Be warned that, if you wear contacts, when (not if) you wipeout, the water jet is so powerful, it can wash your contacts into the back of your head, or out completely!! I think outside of happy hour, unless you are good and not likely to need time to get used to it, it would be expensive, and you wouldn't get enough time to make it worthwhile. If you are a dnowboarder/skateboarder, you willvfind the actual fliw riding one easy.bif you have no balance, stick to body boarding. Though the glow arena is padded, itcstill einds you ehenvyou stac iit!

Dear Planetwanderer,
Thanks for the cool review! Yep it's true if you're staying some hotels and hostels nearby Flow House then you can pick up a voucher to enjoy some discounted cool surfing action in downtown Bangkok!
Actually Flow House is one of the most affordable FlowRider artificial waves in the world - an hour in the UK will cost you 27.00 Pounds Sterling, but when there is so much FUN to be had we say "go for it!!"
Yep agree we wouldn't advise wearing contact lenses and don't allow people to wear glasses on the Wave either.
Next time you're in Bangkok please drop by again and sample our delicious hamburgers and pizzas ok!

Rocked up ready for some fun.
Paid 750baht for an hour. Emphasis on the hour. Got to ride 4 times before they shut the water off after 30 minutes. Asked why we didn't get a full hour, got some crap about not making a booking. Which the receptionist didn't tell us about, but says she did. It's a lot of fun the instructors were helpful but useless admin staff spoilt my visit and ruined all my fun. Didn't get any money back or time that I paid for. Very disappointed.

Dear Jacob,
Thanks for your review and feedback, first of all we must apologize for your experience here at Flow House Bangkok.
We have investigated your booking and seen that you checked-in at 15.24hrs on 3rd December. The Wave Desk officer should have communicated to you that Wave sessions start strictly at the top of every hour and he should have advised you to join the session starting at 16.00hrs (rather than joining half way through an active session) - this way you would have had 1 full hour on the Wave.
We must apologise sincerely for this.
Just to clarify, all Wave Sessions at Flow House Bangkok begin strictly at the top of every hour, if for any reason a Session begins late or is delayed then the time will always carry over to give Riders a full hour.
We take this kind of mistake very seriously as we want all visitors to Flow House Bangkok to have as much FUN as possible!
To make up for this we would like to invite you and a friend back to Flow House Bangkok for a complementary Wave Session and a couple of beers! Please feel free to get in-touch with me directly at info@flowhousebangkok.com so we can arrange a return visit for you.
Once again thanks for the feedback and we hope to see you on the Wave again soon!

I really love it here and the staff are very friendly. The kids loved it and I think it is rather safe out here despite the intensity of the activity. However, it took us quite some times to get here since the taxi driver didn't really know the place. To clarify, it is in the A Square Complex, not the Emporium, which is where the taxi took us. I hope you will have a better experience at this after reading this review.

We visited here several times with our kids, but found the service quite poor and staff unhelpful. Recently they started to increase prices and timing got even shorter for kids to surf in the wave pool. Great idea but poorly managed.

Dear szaidi,
Thank you for your review.
It seems that you might have caught us on a bad day which is inexcusable, so we must apologize for the poor and unhelpful service, it is certainly an issue that will be addressed and we will be showing your review to our team management and staff this coming week.
Yes we have increased our published Rack-Rate price since the New Year, but at the same time we countered this with a number of weekday promotions and also a new set of FlowCard membership offers that significantly reduce the average price of wave sessions.
Timing is also an important issue and unfortunately during the busiest peak times at the weekends the FlowRider can get very busy. We appreciate that kids want to have as much time as possible on the wave so we can only suggest that if it is convenient to try and visit Flow House Bangkok during quieter periods. We will be raising the issue of timing again with our Wave Instructor team and citing your email as important customer feedback to try and improve this as best we can.
Once again thank you for your email and please accept our apologies for our service falling below your expectations.
