I stayed close to the market so walked through. It (and the neighboring Patpong market) really wouldn’t be worth seeing if you weren’t in the area. The stuff I saw was the same old tourist friendly stuff I’ve seen everywhere else except slightly more expensive.

I’m staying not far from Silom Night Markets. Decided to have a look and dinner. Someone tried to take stuff from my backpack (pickpocket), out of all the many markets I have visited this was the first time it’s happened. Lucky nothing there to take....More

I have no idea why people rate this place highly. Its a waste of a night in Bangkok. Very disappointed. Far better to go to Asiatique by side of river.

The market is terrible, all the shops offer the same crap.. it is even not easy to get good food for reasonable price there. It is not comparable with Chiang Mai night market at all - better shop there if you visit it.

Don't expect to buy a lot. Lot's of "brand name" goods for sale. You'll need to haggle to what you think is a reasonable price. Walk around to soak up the atmosphere. Follow onto the adjacent streets where the night life hots up.

Nothing special, expensive products. A lot of locals promoting ping pong show. Even drinks are expensive, you better buy it at 7-11 convenient store.

For as long as I can remember, Bangkok's Silom road hosted a night market where one could buy all kinds of things, made in Thailand and the vicinity, some of them strongly resembling some of the world's luxury products! But, alas, it is no more!...More

Great place to wander to buy cheap goods.... stays open late so best to visit in the cool of evening. Be aware there are lots of girlie bars on either side... thus it is truly an eye-opening place that perhaps you need to be careful...More

Streets are getting more quiet. Bugs n bees is closed n replaced by another cafe. Noodle shop is closed. Streets stalls are not opened, except for the usual massage shops along Silom. So quiet now..... Getting boring.

Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions,
this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many.
Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi
Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the
plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a
night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's
worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers
on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop

When I went, the market seemed to be two long parallel streets, one street for shopping at tourisy stalls and the other with a number of clubs and bars. I think it's safe as long as you watch your personal belongings and... More
