The area
Neighbourhood: Chatuchak
Every weekend, thousands of tourists make their way up to this Northern Bangkok suburb to get lost in an enormous maze of shops at the Chatuchak Weekend Market. Home to almost 10,000 vendors, you’ll find everything from vintage sneakers to comic books and Thai handicrafts being sold here. You name it, Chatuchack probably sells it. The market is a great place to pick up souvenirs, but be sure to bargain for a good price. After a day of shopping and strolling around, the lush green lanes of Chatuchak Park are a welcome relief.

Good place for shopping. Be aware of crowded ppl and heat. You may take whole day for this market, and not enough...

I hope it can reopen again soon

So many different flowers to see and buy. Flowers are a very important part of Thai culture. Lots of people, but the selllers are very helpful. If you love your garden, you will love this place

Walk in and find yourself drawn into a multitude of experiences including the many varieties of flowers, many used for cultural and religious ceremonies. See the many locals creating their many arrangements of ceremonial flora. watch as the merchants and buyers go about the business of the flower trade. Nearby you will find food markets.

Visited chatuchat flower market on Thursday. It was a hot day. If you intend to visit this place, please ensure you bring adequate water to quench your thirst and umbrella to hide under the scorching sun. It was a trip well worth the trip despite the unbearable hot weather. Bought a few reasonably prized plants here.

I went on a Thursday morning as there are some weekdays when Chatuchak market is a plant market. The stalls are generally around the inside perimeter of the market and it was quiet and peaceful but so much to look at. It took me an hour to walk around the perimeter. The prices are good and there was a good range of plants.

Our local guide took us here as part of a walking tour around Bangkok. You will not see a greater variety of flowers like this anywhere else, from orchids to marigolds to local herbs, plants and decorative bamboo. What is also very impressive is to watch the stall holders create flower garlands, decorations and bouquets. If you enjoy local markets and local life you will not be disappointed. This is a real market, so watch out for the busy porters earning a living moving the produce around!
