I first went to here about 20 years ago and it was a large, vibrant market situated within the red light district. You could haggle for all sorts of goods and there was a relaxed vibe about the place. Unfortunately it has now been reduced to a couple of streets selling tacky souvenirs, where you will get the guys touting the "entertainment" of the bars in the street. I guess if you want to walk down a couple of streets and see a few clubs, you can tick off a red light district but it is not worth going for the market.

The market itself had everything and like all Thailand markets it was great fun haggling and buying a few bargains. In the streets around the market there was plenty of choice of street food and restaurants and the nightlife was buzzing. Great place to go to if you are in the Silom area

This is the first market we have visited. Is everything that one sees when doing the prior research on YouTube!! Vendors are friendly and not pushy at all. A firm, but polite thank you, is all that is required. We entered from Surawong Road. Be careful of the traffic and motor cycles they do stop if you are firm when walking across the zebra crossings. The food element is at the end and is very well frequented. Overall a pleasant market with lots of items to choose from. The goods themselves look genuine but as always in Thailand, buyer beware..

I did see some people with kids here, but this is not a family friendly market. This is one of the sleaziest markets in Thailand. Ping pong shows, hookers, "massage" parlours, go go bars, etc. Fairly dirty atmosphere overall. There are lots of decent products for sale, prices vary (you must negotiate), and some of the vendors are extremely pushy. The food court is very reasonably priced and most of the food is excellent. I see lots of negative reviews, and I suspect those people had no idea what they were getting into.. Be aware of what you are going to. Jodd Faris market is much more family friendly and cleaner, etc... but they don't have much of this sleazy aspect. If you like that kind of thing, you will love this place. If you don't, seriously... don't come here.

Nice market with on the also some inside shops with very good copy items. The better fake goods. Also nice gogo girl bars. Just don’t go into any ping pong show. You’ll have lots of problems getting out without being scammed.

I am staying on the other side of Silom Road so I thought I’d check out the night markets for food. Prices are not low, you would find cheaper in a cleaner food court. Lots of fake bags, hats, clothes, shoes, whatever designer you want they probably have a fake version. Starts on Silom Rd and backs into the other side opposite Le Meridien. There’s plenty of ping pong shows and bikini dressed girls dancing in clubs luring in all the tourists. Not a place for kids to view as their doors are wide open. As a female solo traveller, I found the bars seedy and tasteless. There are better street food vendors along Park Silom with low prices and delicious food.
