Lively walking street at night

I am Thai and once in a while went to Khao San Road. Last time, it feels out of Bangkok. Lots of tourists (foreigners) and many street vendors. The place is lively. Like it.

Although it is only a small road but in there you can find a lot of restaurant and stalls for selling variety of goods. Furthermore, there are many shops for money exchange, the rate is quite good. If you are travel alone, I think it is the best place and cheapest place to stay. There are many accommodations, price varies... More

What I expected of Bangkok nightlife and more! Very busy, lots of food and drink options. Massage parlours everywhere. Lots of clothing vendors. A must do to experience the fast paced culture of this city.

We stopped by in the evening for some drinks and food. The khao san 1986 bar is a great place to sit on the second floor and people watch while enjoying a beverage. The street is full of food carts and people selling all kinds of things, if you want to try bugs or scorpions this is your place.

Great shopping and bars, surprises all the way but you have to experience the area even if your not there for the seedier side it's still a must to visit

Lots of vendors here, from tech to clothes, at night it turns into a place where you can grab some street food including scorpions and other bugs on sticks😂 yum! Also a great place to grab a beer and people watch.

A perfect place to buy a cheap beer, make new friends from all over the world and try some great food. Only downside is as you sit at one of the roadside bars, you will be guaranteed to be heckled into buying some ridiculous wristbands or scorpions

Khaosan is the backpacks avenue! Over there you can find almost everything you are looking for... But for really, avoid Thai Massage, I dont know what happens but, what I had over there was not a Thai Massage...

Visited this area both during the day and night. Somewhat boring by day but comes alive at night with music, street vendors and lights.

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
