Rented a Mazda BT50 to drive around the north. Excellent service and reasonable price. I would recommend to anyone, they are very courteous and efficient.

Rented a 650cc Vulcan for 100 baht/day during COVID times in Feb 2021, 7 nights through the MHS loop and down to Mae Sot, Sukhothai etc. Bike was in excellent condition, better than the Harley's I normally rent from Eaglerider for ex. Great tread on tires, breaks great, condition of paint etc great... not your tyipcal rental bike. Friendly , flexible staff, delivered and picked up at my hotel with a smile. Jackets, helmets also in good condition. All in all a great experience, and I've rented loads of bikes around the world (San Fran, Cape Town, Menbourne, etc). Go for it!

Rented the Honda 500 for 5 days with panniers and helmets. The bike was excellent and we rode alot two up through rain and shine. The two sister were very helpful and professional, gave us suggestion for the routes, and brought additional helmets for us to choose the right fit.

My wife and I were in Northern Thailand in January. We had read and heard that going around the Mae Hong Son Loop by motorcycle is a great experience. My wife and I rented our bikes from Mr. Mechanic Shop #2 because we read an article saying good things about them.
We were greeted by a very nice lady by the name of Ying, who speaks great English. Mrs. Ying told us that if an accident happened, to let he know and that their Insurance would reimburse any medical expenses incurred.

About 60 km before reaching Mae Sariang, my wife felt dizzy - probably because of the heat - , missed a curve, hit a cement railguard... then learned to fly. She suffered a mild concussion (with a total short term memory loss during the first 12 hours), multiple cuts and abrasions. From the hospital, I called Mrs. Ying, who reiterated keeping all the medical bills for us to be reimbursed.

The day before we left ChiangMai, we went to Mr. Mechanics with all the papers. Mrs. Ying called one of her employees, a nice young man by the name of Ken, who first took us to the insurance company, whose staff quickly handled the claim and gave us a cheque covering, as promised, all of the medical expenses we had incurred. Then, Ken drove us to the bank, so we could cash the cheque, and finally drove us to our hotel.

In conclusion, my wife and I are very impressed with the service we received from Mr. Mechanic and recommend them to anyone who wishes to rent motorcycles in ChiangMai.

Thank you, Ying and Ken !

DO NOT RENT YOUR MOTORBIKE AT MR MECHANIC STORE 2. I rented a bike for six days to do the Mae Hong son loop and had one of the best experiences of my life ... except when I got back and returned my bike a day early, I was slapped with a 1500 baht repair fee for a few scratches (forgot to take photos to show how small these scratches were and could easily be covered by a layer of paint). People there refused to negotiate price at all and were incredibly rude - started laughing after I asked why two scratches on a black exhaust muffler guard could possibly cost 600 baht. I was dumbfounded. Would rather be grated alive than rent here again. Unless you are 100% confident that your bike won’t touch anything except the wind while your riding, I repeat - do not rent here. Wouldn’t surprise me one bit if I heard these people charging you over 400 baht for a bug flying into your helmet.

Also, read their insurance conditions carefully - does not cover any kind of small damage.

Rented 2 Suzuki’s 650 for 6 days. As the top case of one bike was a bit small for us they instantly assembled a bigger one from another bike. As one bike wouldn’t start on our second day at Mae Hong Son due to a defect in the electric which a local mechanic could not fix, they brought us from Chiang Mai a Honda CB 500 as replacement. Both bikes worked perfectly until the end of our trip. Additionally to our deposits they paid us back without any discussion:The money difference for the cheaper Honda, the money for the second day we could not use the bike and the costs for the local mechanics . Nice, honest and fair people. Would rent there again.

Terrible place. We ended up in the other place for renting bikes. Don't waste your time here.
1. My friend was here and had an fair experience. But the second day, we came here again and a man insisted in 4000THB of deposit. We stated that we didn't have so much cash for deposit because of short-term trip. He BURSTed WITH ANGER and rudely asked us to go to other place.

2. The other place, still ask 4000 for deposit, but accept equivalent amount in other currency, which is fair enough.

3. You can pay extra for bike insurance, which is kind of birrare. At least we don't see this "service" provided by several other shops.

Very easy to rent bikes from Ying who runs the shop with her sister. Great customer service, super friendly and easy access on the outskirts of the Old town. Bikes were in good condition, relatively new, no mechanical issues and easy to drive. I would suggest taking a photo of the bike at initial rental so that there’s no confusion over any dings or scrapes when you return the bike. Enjoy the ride!

I rented a bike from Mr. Mechanic on two separate occasions. The bike was a Kawasaki Vulcan S, a 650 cc tourer. It was a beautiful bike that was in great condition. I had no problems with the bike itself. They took my passport as a deposit, but that's par the course in Thailand so no qualms there.
The reason I'm giving 4 rather than 5 stars is the sparse safety equipment (just a few helmets, which were mainly builder's hard-hat style helmets rather than full-face ones, no gloves, jackets or trousers, and no check of my license. I can understand not checking for licenses for a 50 cc or 125 cc, but you're considerably more likely to hurt yourself or others on a 650 cc.
Also, not related to this company in any way, but be aware that unless you have an international driving license, you WILL be pulled over by the police and fined 500 baht (15-ish USD). Don't stress it, though - you can just drive off after you pay up, so it's really just a bribe for the local police. You get a sheet of paper when they fine you that has validity for 3 days, so if you get pulled over again during that time, just show them the paper and you can go on your merry way.
