We did the one day trek, bamboo rafting and elephant experience.
Getting there: it was not an air conditioned van but one of the red trucks that are everywhere in chiang mai. It was about 1.5 hours from downtown so being in that truck wasn't...More
We did a full day trip to this little piece of paradise. The only complaint was the 1 hour drive in the back of an enclosed pick up both ways. But don't let that put you off the amazing time to be had at the...More

My friend and I came here with high hopes. We had done a lot of research. We felt inspired by their cause (Daughters Rising). We were most excited for the elephant interaction because their website has a “no riding” icon and claims...More
We enjoyed the two day trekking with Chompoo a lot.
This was a private trekking and therefore the role of the trekking guide played an important role.
Chompoo speaks good enough English, doesn't blabber too much, keeps a good paste in trekking. It seems that...More
If you are looking for an over-scheduled trek where information is being spewed at you every second, this is not for you. If, however, you are looking for a laid-back, more native approach to experiencing Thailand, this is definitely for you. Also, your money is...More
Our tour was spoiled by an elephant who for no apparent reason grabbed my daughter and rolled her on the ground. We feel so lucky she was just bruised and scraped from head to toe. It was so scary. She could have easily be killed...More
We had a wonderful tour with Alex. Everyone was super friendly! We did the half day caretaker experience with the baby elephants and some older elephants. We also saw the most amazing waterfall ever and drove through the remote town to get to it. The...More
My wife and I visited Chai Lai Sister's Orchid for an overnight stay in the middle of October as part of a week exploring Chiang Mai. There are a lot of eco-tours and elephant encounters in the region, but we're really glad we picked this...More
So personally I was nervous when my girlfriend booked a stay in a jungle bungalow, but I must say I was pleasantly surprised. It’s not for the weak of heart, as you will be without cell phone service and WiFi on the premises, but as...More
Before coming to Thailand I was most excited about doing a homestay and having done lots of research the chai Lai sisters looked to have exactly what I wanted.
I had exchanged a few emails beforehand with the owner Alexa and when we arrived we...More

The Chai Lai Orchid is about a 60 minute sontang (open air taxi) drive, but my advice is to contact Nukul at Chai Lai Sisters & she can tailor a trip to suit your schedule. They have their own drivers who have really comfortable 4x4 wheel drives. There are so many beautiful treks, temples, waterfalls, markets & elephants around the Chaing Mai area and Nukul knows them all. I did two day trips with her and on one of them we stopped at a temple on top of a mountain, when I noticed a monk, I asked if we could have a blessing. Golo (a partner of Chai Lai sisters) disappeared for 30minutes, came back with offerings for the monk and we got our blessing-just beautiful.
Don't miss the opportunity to spend a day in this beautiful area with these amazing women. Tell them Olivia & Julie say Hi.
