We arrived Chiang Mai under a downpour with two children aged 9 and 11 catching colds, sniffling and feverish. A call to owner Fokke was immediate relief: "yes, of course we can postpone a couple days, and I hope the kids are better!" What a relief. Fokke was accommodating not once but twice when we again called with needs to reschedule. We are typically much better organized but these were unexpected issues. No problems! Fokke was great.
The bike ride itself, with guide Sun, was fantastic. We chose the 50km "Colours of Chiang Mai" ride through the south of Chiang Mai, even with the not 100% better children in tow, there was no complaints, only enjoyment! The numerous stops were interesting, the food was great at the roadside restaurant, the bamboo rice, candies and market were fascinating, the countryside beautiful, the roads and trail very pleasurable, all flat, the pace wonderful, the bikes comfortable and in great shape. We learned about the local arts and crafts, favorite foods (try the Chiang Mai sausage!), visited the old leper colony, even had some time for a little shopping! Great off the beaten path way to see Chiang Mai.
Highly recommended!
