About
This is an amazing museum about Chiang Mai's history and culture. It opened in 1999. Their web sit is a bit hi-tech quirky.

Interactive cultural centre. Well signposted in both Thai and English. Professional displays and visual presentations. Airconditioned and well maintained. Ticket bought as a package of three cultural centres at 180 baht. Great value!

We loved this well-organised, modern, fascinating museum. There were lots of air-conditioned, clean, spacious and interesting displays all about the history of the region, most with very modern audio-visual elements. Everything written in thai and English. Some rooms were ok, but over all we felt like there were to many videos to watch that seemed quite outdated. Kids were bored and we didn’t really find that we stayed for long in the rooms. Shame, as we were expecting more.

The building is pleasant and some effort has been put into the museum and displays. There’s a focus on history and culture. I left learning very little and overall experience was so dull. I wouldn’t bother unless you have a more specialized interest in this...More
