We went to Basil cookery school after looking at numerous leaflets for schools in and around Chiang Mai. Chose this one because of the small classes (maximum 8), number of dishes we would cook and it was the only leaflet that gave a description of the choices on offer. Didn't regret our decision. It was a really enjoyable experience, and... More

I went there with my partner as she wanted to do it more than me, to be honest. However, how wrong I was. Utterly brilliant. I am not a chef. At all. But under Apple's tutelage I felt like a master. The fact that you get hotel pick up and drop off, as well as a really useful recipe book... More

Myself and my girlfriend booked the evening course and were taken firstly to the market to be introduced to main ingredients. We were then driven to the cookery school and taken step by step through our six dishes. Apple (our tutor) was really cool and made sure we had a enjoyable time. We would highly recommend this as an introduction... More

We did this on our last night in Chiang Mai and it was one of my favorite parts of the trip. The pickup was prompt and our trip to the market was informative and fun. Our guide, Pim, was funny, knowledgeable and a bit cheeky at times but always very helpful! We cooked and ate a TON of food (more... More

We enjoyed a full day Thai course with our family of 5 (3 teenage kids). Apple was our instructor and she taught us so much. Everything was really well organised and the food was delicious. Would highly recommend this course.

I had so much fun during my 1st cooking class at another place, I decided to take another class and chose Basil Cooker School for the good reviews and close location from my hotel. There is only one class at a time and max 8 people per class. Pim was a great instructor. I liked the homey feel of the... More

Prepared 7 dishes and it was very informative and interesting. Students get to select what they wish to cook from a menu. Experience starts out with a visit to the local market where the cook explains the different Thai ingredients. Then proceeds to a house with hands on cooking. Class is small so you get attention from the chef. You... More
