This bar was fine when it was operating but it has been closed for business for many months now and should be removed from Trip Advisor.

This bar was a gem of a find. It's tucked away on a soi behind the Night Bazaar (we only found it because it was near our hotel and we walked past it) but it's well worth making the effort to find it. The music was great, and they had different bands in different styles every night, which makes a... More

Thanks for the great review. Yes, we're all about good music, good food and a good vibe. The mossies are courtesy of Mother Nature, which we can't do much about, but at least they're having a good time as well :-) More

Unfortunately we were there too early for any bands which was a real shame. We ordered a couple of pizzas though. They took over half an hour to arrive (the place only had one other couple there) and once they did were so very disappointing. Greasy, lacking any flavour, poor base, tasted like a shop bought frozen pizza. We were... More

Thanks for the feedback and sorry you didn't enjoy the pizza. I can assure you that everything is made on-site, base and sauce; we definitely don't use frozen shop-bought bases. Our pizzas do take a little longer to make, but you would've seen the staff start work on yours as soon as you ordered. But please drop by again, when... More

Fantastic music! They have blues a few times each week, filled out with acoustic, jazz, whatever, on the other nights. The bar is set up to enjoy the music, so no stupid TV's showing football or annoying girls hassling you for drinks. Great pizza and Thai food as well. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because they... More

Thanks for the kind words. Yes, we're definitely all about the music and everything is geared towards that. My first love is the blues but we try to have a mix of different styles, just to keep things interesting. There are so many good musicians in Chiang Mai and we want to showcase as many of them as we can. More

My wife and I had dinner here one night while craving pizza. The pizza was delicious and filling. There was no live music - it was still quite early - but they did have something on that was really cool. The atmosphere and look of the place are great, kind of rustic, with cabin-like wooden tables. The next time we... More

I have visited this bar every time I have come to Chiang Mai and it's been wonderful every time. I can say, without a doubt, it's fast becoming one of Chiang Mai's must-visit places. There are some other bars that have good music but they usually have the same thing every night. What I like the most about Bear Bar... More

Hopefully, if people like youself continue to support us and the musicians, we'll be able to keep doing for quite a while longer. More

A great little music venue that supports the local artists. The owner and manager are very personable and friendly. The pizza was delicious! Definitely a must when in Chiang Mai.

Thanks for the kind words. We've worked hard getting the pizza as good as it is, so we're stoked that so many people are raving about it. Supporting the local music scene is a very important part of what we do, and we appreciate that people like yourself in turn support us. Thanks for dropping by! More

A friend recommended this place and we're very glad she did. The music was great and they do this fantastic home-made pizza. We chatted with the owner for quite a while and he has a very interesting background. Ask him about it! It's a bit hard to find, but easy once you know where it is. Check their web site... More

Thanks for the great review, and so much for staying incognito :-) Yes, we're at the quiet end of the street but that's not necessarily a bad thing. People come to the bar because they know it's there, because they want to be there and catch some great music. And pizza! :-) But yes, the web site is an important... More

Properly the best place in Chiang Mai for hearing some of the most talented musicians preform at their best. The Owner allows them to create, express and preform with new energy every time. In case you want a pizza or a small meal, food is good. Beware the place is a waterhole for many people living here, so if you... More

Hi Michael and thanks for the review. You've hit the nail on the head wrt what we're trying to do. It's about supporting the local scene and musicians, creating a space for them to do their thing. It certainly helps that management are musicians themselves! And yes, we're also trying to create a place for locals to come hang out... More

This place is probably the best overall for music in Chiang Mai. They have a lot of different stuff on, so it's important to check their web site to find out what's on. http://thebearbar.com It's a mixed bag of jazz, blues, latin, folk, acoustic, but it's all good :) And their pizza is better than good, it's awesome! Thanks for the great review. We're trying to build a venue with an emphasis on quality music, so it's cool you're getting into it so much. We tell the musicians that we're not too fussed about what they play, as long as it's good :-) More
