My husband and I took the morning cooking class and had a wonderful time. We explored the market briefly and then went and made 5 different dishes (plus a curry!).

We loved the experience. The couple who runs the class is lovely and funny, the food was amazing and we are confident we will be able to recreate it at home!

It was a good mix of working alone and working together, and I definitely recommend coming hungry!

10/10 a must do in Chiang Mai!

This cooking class was everything we had hoped for. After a brief tour and talk about local food at the markets our group of seven were off to cook. Little chef (Oun) is very funny, a great teacher and chef. Him and his wife (Kae, pronounced Gay) are amazing hosts, who both speak excellent English. We were really happy with the meals we cooked and learnt heaps. I am a vege and all meals could be tweaked to suit my needs and my husband's dislike of anything fishy. You can get take aways if you are unable to eat all of your courses. We did the evening course and it wasnt to hot with lots of fans keeping us cool. Tip - there are momentos to purchase if you want, so would advise bringing a little Bhat.

We can not recommend this experience enough! We did the evening cooking class and learned how to make 5 delicious meals including Pad Thai, Tom Yum Soup, and our personal favourite, Khao Soi! We left very full and extremely happy! Oun and Kae, who run the cooking school out of their home, are a local Thai couple who have a huge passion for food - they even met at cooking school! Oun is very knowledgeable and taught us so much about many ingredients we had never even heard of. The class was very well organized and professional - while you were cooking, the team was behind the scenes prepping the ingredients for your next meal and cleaning up. And to top it all off, they even send you home with a cook book explaining how to make each meal when you get home! Oun and Kae are both very funny and welcoming. This is our favourite activity we've done in Chiang Mai so far - highly recommend!!

Whilst we waited patiently for kae to pick us up from our hotel my thoughts were ok will this be a boring cooking class we'll let me tell you this, from the moment we were picked up and driven to the local thai market to select your produce I could not stop laughing. Kae made us feel very comfortable with her witty, loveable and hilarious personality. She explained what the food was and how it is used within thai dishes. We arrived at the home of Kae were this little pocket rocket nood took over and taught us the way local thai cook food, I must state this lady is probably one of the funniest and loveable people to teach with her infectionous personality nood makes cooking fun. Step by step guide of how things are done and learning and sweet fuk, normal fuk and Thai fuk, if I can recommend a fantastic evening then this would be the first thing I would organise when I arrive in chiang mai. Thank you very much for the most amazing night nood and my favourite buom boi kae. Regards Matt & Jo x

First we were unsure if we should pick this course, because they're so many schools with more reviews. But we were surprised by the generosity and humbleness of the cooking schools teacher and his wife. They are just so adorable, funny and made us feel like family. They even considered our wishes, in terms of seafood or not, vegetarian etc.
We learned a lot about Thai cooking and where we could possibly get the ingredients in our country. The food we made was often even better, than in some restaurants. Overall, it was really a highlight on our trip to Chiang Mai. I can highly recommend it to everyone, even if you have no skills in cooking.

My boyfriend and I loved our morning cooking class experience with Oun! The class was small (6 people) and started at a local market where Oun explained some of the ingredients that would be in our dishes. We rode the local mode of transportation (Red Truck) to the cooking school, which was an indoor-outdoor setup and just outside the main Chiang Mai city. Oun gave clear instructions and led the class at a comfortable pace. While we did most of the work, Oun was always there to make sure we were doing okay. The class was well-organized, easy-to-follow, and fun (Oun was also really funny!). All the dishes were cooked were delicious, surprisingly easy, and we can't wait to try and repeat them back at home. By the end of the class we were full and felt accomplished. I would recommend this class to anyone!

Oun and Kae run a polished and fun cooking school. We were picked up from our hotel then driven to a local fruit and veg Market where after selecting the individual menu we each wanted to cook were helped to buy the ingredients. Another short trip and we were back to Oun's purpose-built cooking school at his home. Once a fine restaurant Chef Oun is full of fun and laughs as he instructs you through the creating and making of four Amazing Thai Dishes. I chose to make Pad Thai, a green papaya salad, a coconut milk soup and a Curry. Following each course that we cooked we sat down in a group with a lot of chatter, jokes and stories even though most people had never met. We finished off this huge meal with sticky rice and mango. It takes about 5 hrs all up and is very cheap at 800bt $40 aus. Very highly recommended.

I am a very keen cook and my husband never cooks but we both had an amazing time! The trip to the market with Kae was great and she told us a lot about Thai ingredients. She is very funny and energetic. Back at their house she and her husband Oun plus a band of helpers helped us all cook a 4 course meal. Oun explains everything clearly and is very entertaining. Even if you have never cooked give this a go you will not regret it! The food you get to make is delicious and you have various choice. Oun makes an amazing dessert to finish the meal. You can buy beer at 50Bhat. I forgot I hadn’t paid as I booked on line ages ago and was about to leave without paying - he was very nice about it! Really good value for money and they are a lovely couple.
