Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Been across this old bridge many times this week and into the past. Close to our hotel workmen have spent the last couple of days making it look spectacular for Loy Krathong on the 27th November

Iron walking bridge to get you from the main part of the city to hotels and residential areas. Near the water market and steps from the night market.

We were in Chiang Mai for 5 days last November for Yi Peng (Flying Lantern Festival) and Loy Krathong (Floating Lantern Festival).

We didn't see anything special with this bridge while we were crossing it...
But then at night when the Yi Peng Festival started everything changed.

It became one of the 2 main launching sites for the flying lanterns.
We also had a good view from there of the floating candles launching on the banks of the river.

I have attached several pictures, hoping to give kind of a feeling of this event.

Beside this 3 day event I wouldn't think this bridge is a place you must go to.

Nice views of Nawarat Bridge from here. Close to Tops Supermarket for the travelers who need their Western treats, cheese, butter, cookies etc. Along with this 2 v ery good Western Restaurants "River Market & Dukes" both owned by the same guy. Expensive for my taste but suits many others.

A visit to Chiang Mai is not complete without a walk across the Iron Bridge over the Ping River.

Warning.....don’t step on the feet of couples sitting eating takeout meals!

We fell in love with this Bridge as it was close to our hotel and we crossed it so many times. We took lots of photos as it is meant to be lucky. The River Ping flows underneath and our intention is to go on a river cruise to see it from a different angle. It is well lit up at night and is a popular haunt with the youngsters(who sometimes get in the way!)

We took a tuk & tuk to go over this bridge yesterday. Here’s a photo from afar. I think it might be more interesting walking across to appreciate the ironwork.

We walked over this bridge at least 2x per day everyday that we were here as the night bazaar is on this side of the river from where we were staying. It’s nothing special but the locals do love to hang out on it fishing, taking selfies or having dates.

Nice view of the river and you can watch the locals fish. It’s a bridge but a very nice one. You can also listen to the music in the local bars from here.
