Wouldn't recommend!

We are staying at the anantara boput and booked through them, we have just arrived back cutting the trip short. Elephants and monkeys chained up, the place was a tip and generally a disaster. I've complained to this hotel - how can a luxury hotel recommend such awful animal cruelty at inflated prices. Do not go - so sad this... More

Not an 'ecotour' in any way. False advertising. Our tour was interesting and varied, but the treatment of the animals was very poor. The elephants looked in really bad condition and were chained up. As for watching chained up monkey's ride tricycles...no thanks.

Decided to take up this day tour to see more of this island. Eco tour is only good for tourists that are not from tropical country. Big Buddha visit, no tour guide explanation on history or whatsoever. We were just told to walk around by ourselves and to gather back to truck in 20mins. Anyway, its a small place. Grandfather... My girlfriend and I went on this trip on our second day on samui to try and get to see a bit more of the island and because we were desperate to see the elephants. We were also attracted by the long list of activities which we felt would give us a good impression of what island life is like... More

We booked on for a morning on the quad bikes followed by elephant trekking and then a visit to the waterfall. We found the quad biking to be fun and had a laugh however when we arrived to do the elephant trekking we instantly didn't feel right as the animals did not seem happy and we're forced to walk around... I agree with much that's been said by other reviewers but would add that our experience wasn't quite as bad as some. We were collected on time by our guide and his driver. Our guide spoke good English and was very pleasant and informative throughout the whole day. We were indeed sat in the back of a truck with bench... More

Still feel great shame at taking my wife and 2 kids to this aweful place. We purchased the 1/2 day package and spent 60% of our time at the back of a pick up truck driving at dangerous speeds despite many kind reminders to the driver and staff. Safety is clearly NOT a priority. The place is poorly kept, the... More

I read the bad reviews before going here thinking to myself, it can't be as bad as people are saying! It was!!!! If you like seeing animals "perform" then this is the place for you! It was just really sad watching the poor elephants and monkeys perform and what I was more shocked about was the people in the audience... More

not worth to even think about spending time of your holiday on eco tourism and the Half Day 9 In 1 Eco Safari or similar called trips. a shame for every hotel to make advertising for this rip off. a no go for responsible persons at hotels and the tourism authorities to let such "operators" work with animals.
