    Magnificent Temple
Such a beautiful temple! This temple is fully made of wood and without a single nail. Firstly, you need to buy a ticket in order to get in. It comes with a tour guide and there are slots for different languages. Safety helmet is provided. The tour walks through the process of making the temple and maintenance. A lengthy process of making each wood panel and the skillful craftsmanship which spans generations. After the guided tour of the temple, it is free and easy to explore the temple and plenty of time for photos. A magnificent temple and a must visit if you are in Pattaya! 👍👍👍

    Sanctuary of truth
Located in Nakula, just nth of Pattaya. 500b entry. Started in 1981, still an ongoing project. Totally made out of timber ,no nails. Has guided tours if u want. U can see the workers carving the timber. I took a retired 80yr carpenter , who was just in awe of the timber work. Been 3 times now over past 10 yrs.

Wonderful consideration for those with a disability
Had a fabulous visit here today. I have some mobility issues, but don’t use a walking stick. However, the extremely observant lady at the ticket office noticed and from that moment on we were treated like honoured guests. We were driven the short distance to the museum entrance and then invited to use the lift. The museum is stunning. The carving is remarkable and the messages enlightening if you choose to take notice (it is not in any forced upon you). The setting is spectacular and a cooling breeze pervaded the space making it a very pleasant place to spend time even in the middle of the day in fierce heat. There were many benches for taking a seat throughout. We had lovely refreshments from the coffee stand and then a speed boat ride with further assistance for me to climb aboard. Finally, we were driven back to the entrance. Highly recommended and especially for those who are a little infirm.
Thank you Clare for sharing your experience with us – we greatly appreciate it! We strive to create great customer experiences, and your feedback makes it worth it. We hope the message of the 7 Truths of Life explained through carving makes your visit remarkable. Great couple of hours out, should stop the the elephant rides!!
Interesting place to visit for a couple of hours. The entrance fee of THB 500 includes a compulsory guided tour. The tour takes about 45 mins and once it is finished you are free to wander around at your own free will. For me, the only negative was the elephant rides. the elephants look so sad, i find it hard to believe that people still pay to do these type of activities.

    Worth it!
We went here on a whim as there's not much to do in Pattaya early in the morning. Entrance was around AU$23, which would be dear as compared to other sights. Everyone needs to be allocated in a group tour provided by the Sanctuary, which was about 45 minutes, going through how the Sanctuary was built, its meaning and why it was built. Then you are allowed to roam free as you wish after the group tour. It will take me a day or two given the time just to scrutinize each woodwork and its details. The price I paid for the entrance is worth it for the maintenance of the Sanctuary. It is a place that you don't get to see a lot in your travels. I am not happy with the elephants that are kept for entertainment though.
Thank you inggep for sharing your experience with us! We are super happy to hear that you enjoyed your visit with us. Beautiful museum
The Sanctuary of Truth started to be built in 1981 and is the largest wooden temple in the whole of Thailand. Nice tourist spot with a guide who explained the history about the museum. There are other activities in the area that makes it extra pleasant to visit the place. Such as elephant rides, souvenir shops, boat rides and visiting other animals. Has to buy admission ticket.

    A marvelous wooden structure
This all wood magnificent structure is still under progress but it is worth visiting. It displays very fine details of various beliefs and journey of life made entirely out of wood. They have a in-site workshop for creating different structures. The entry ticket includes a guided tour as well.

    Beyond words! Amazing place
This is my second time visiting this place (the first in August of 2018 -- as a solo traveler) and this time with friends. It still never fails to amaze me and the grandeur of the place is still much to be admired. I dont think words can express how amazing this place is ... how magnificent ... and how it captivates one's heart and soul. I highly recommend this place to all who are visiting pattaya.

I was just so impressed.
You should definitely take the guided tour.
You will be fascinated by the architectural splendor when you see it with knowledge.
The detailed and delicate carvings create a unique atmosphere with light and shadows from the outside.
They harmonize beautifully with the scenery and are truly works of art.

Visited the Sanctuary of Truth in Pattaya, Thailand. It’s described as the largest wooden castle in the world, with construction starting in 1981, and it is still under construction. You have to wear a hard hat when you go inside, and you can see artisans working on some of the wood paneling. Tickets were 700 baht for a guided tour, and you take a shuttle to the building. It looks like a temple but they will tell you it’s a museum, and there are Buddha relics inside. Only takes about an hour, and good for families, kids, and adults.

Amazing building built by woods without. Worth to spend time there.

It takes around 15 minutes from center Pattaya by “Bolt” which cost around B$80 one way.

Ticket available at B$500 in ticketing office.
Suggest to buy ticket online in advance and you’ll get B$100 discount.

Nothing as expected, looking forward to seeing Sanctuary of Truth…that was spoilt by giving people the opportunity to ride elephants 😡😡 when googled this place photos of temple come up none of the other stuff, would certainly not of parted with my money!! Spoilt by being too commercialised didn’t want to go around with 50 other people…
We left our group and glad to get out..
Use your money go visit Pattaya Elephant Sanctuary a beautiful experience with such gentle animals not made for people to ride on!!
Spoilt our day!!!

For the museum I would give this a five star but then i witnessed an elephant beibg beaten around the head because it looked the other way :( the keeper was in its back who was carrying passengers which I don't agree with anyway but it is what it is but to beat an elephant around the head with a stick that has a hook in it is unacceptable:( I complained and was told they don't like to see it either but it is to make the elephant obedient I am never returning there again :( x the museum is amazing but there is nothing ethical in that place at all :(

This is a huge wooden castle. Craftsmanship is excellent. This castle is being built since last 40 years. It is located Laem Ratchawet on Na Klua Road, North Pattaya. This is a wonderful wooden castle with beautiful sculptures and carvings that reflect the worldview of wisdom. Should be in must visit place list while in Pattaya.

These guys charge 500 baht and force a guide on us. Why can't we visit just to see the sculptures.. Why do you want to force the philosophy on us which by the way is all copied from Hinduism and you don't even mention it ? And by the way, this is still a project in progress and of course sponsored by your high ticket prices. There are many places in Thailand to find great sculptures. Don't waste your money on this one.

First and foremost, this is a tourist scam. However, I will say the exterior of the sanctuary is really nice even with little construction left to be done. Tour was guided and scripted with no historical nor religious significance likely for a reason I will get into. The tour guide was giving rather a philosophical tour of the "7 Truths", which came across as preaching rather than being informative. The guided portion was rather long and would have been better off just reading off the wood than listening to a philosophical lesson and walking around in circles. One more thing to note, shorts that go above your knees are not allowed inside the sanctuary despite having no religious reasoning but they have outside vendors selling the traditional Thai long pants.

Lastly, I just want to bring up the animal cruelty being done to the elephants. It is absolutely appalling seeing the elephants in chains with tourists riding on their backs and struggling out in the hot and humid climate. In fact, these elephants look malnourished and seem to rely on tourists buying and feeding them bananas. I even witnessed an elephant being slapped AND smacked with a metal object similar to a pick axe by the mahout, which absolutely broke me. The tour guide and the pamphlet say the elephants are treated well, fed, and taken care of by the veterinarians. This is an ABSOLUTE LIE. What I saw was a disgrace and NOT ACCEPTABLE. As a site that emphasizes treating others with respect and humility is a mockery to those practicing Buddhism around the world as well as Southeast Asian culture. Shame on this place.
