Fishing Village and boat around
Nov 2019
We were toured around the fishing village by a small boat - observing the floating homes, karsts in the background, fishing boats, villagers and village life. We were shown the small fish farms and all the various processes of fishing. We also toured the cultural and fishing museum. The tour was a nice afternoon on the water and in the village.

Nice Day trip to see floating village
Nov 2019 • Couples
We visited the village in November. You can rent kayaks and explore on your own or you can hire a boat that fits 6 people and have a local villager row the boat for you while you relax and enjoy the breathtaking sights. It's truly amazing to see a community of people living on a floating village in the bay

A floating village!! My first time seeing one :)
Dec 2018
While we were on our journey into the waters of Ha Long Bay, our tour guide asked us to get come outside and get down.
I was shocked, thinking why would anyone ask us to get down in the middle of the sea ?
And that's is when we noticed this floating village.
People actually live here, right in the middle of the sea, so close to all elements of the nature.
The floating village is made of bamboo blocks tied together with blue drums keeping it afloat. There were tiny huts, stalls and a kayak section. This is definitely worth the visit.

Local Village

Great place to use the Kyacks and explore the inlet. Also to see the locals. 1 hour is more than enough time to see.

A different way of life
Aug 2019
A village lady rowed us around the village, it was interesting to see how others live and work as most houses have a fish farm in front of their house!
These ladies are the same ones that try and sell you trinkets and beer and wine whilst you are on board your cruise.
There was a small museum that you could have a look around after the row boat tour.
worth a look, all part of the economy.

We had the opportunity to visit the village without the normal crowds which was unique and had a private tour through the pearl area.

It's thrilling to find out the way the household reside for several various decades in the floating villages, the main revenue is fish and sea food farm, as well as today they perform for tourist. best that you see an alternative society of Vietnam

Part of the visit
Jun 2019
The floating visit is part of the itinerary of a cruise around the Bay. It is interesting to see some of the daily life and stuff that goes on but our bamboo boat did not get to close or stop. It is interesting that there seemed to be a lot of dogs living on the rafts.

Interesting Visit
May 2019 • Couples
This was a great experience, we went on a small boat and were taken around the floating village on a small row boat, the lady scooped the water out before we got in! It was raining heavily but it didn't deter from the visit. In the visitors centre we learnt about the history of the village and the staff even offered to sing us a traditional marriage song for us.

As part of our Halong Bay trip it was an interesting visit to see how people lived on a floating village but it could not help being a bit commercial because of its location.
