Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you're on one side of a river and need to get to the other side of the river then a bridge is one of the best options for you. This bridge is very good at being a bridge, in fact it's one of the most bridge-like bridges that I've ever travelled across. It's a long walk on a hot and hummid day so before you set off make double sure that you want to be on the other side of the river.

This bridge connects Bai Chai with Hong Gai over the Ha Long bay. It has been around since December 2006 and at the time it was considered the longest center-line cable-stayed bridge in the world (cables running down the center of the bridge to balance the weight on both sides). It's pretty long at over 3,600 feet long. It does have 2 pedestrian walking lanes, one on each side.

BOTTOM LINE: Not really a tourist attraction, just a beautiful looking bridge. It is especially beautiful at night when the bridge is lit up in multi-colors. The close by Ferris wheel lights up at night providing even more colorful lights. Unique, but not particularly a 'must see' but if you are in the area, enjoy it. MY RATING: 9/10.

If unlike me you chose to stay somewhere useful in Halong don’t bother to visit the bridge.. it is a bridge, it’s not that cool.

If like me you made the mistake of staying in bai chai and you have already done the single tour of ha long bay available (many providers but they allllll have the same itinerary), or been to cat ba island (cool to see but with the ferry times you can’t do a tour or anything) then by all means check out the bridge. It’s the highlight of the city if you chose to stay in this area and can’t access anything good.

If you want to see a little bit further in the vietanameese culture you should cross this bridge a visit the market, the shopping mall and the port. It really worth it. You can also find a PizzaHut if you need a break from asian food.

This is an ordinary bridge, connecting two parts of town.
In itself, it's not worth getting called "an attraction".

I believe the government has spent a huge amount of money building this bridge, great effort because before that is would take hours getting across the waterway.
