Great small exhibition with pictures from over a century ago. Allows to understand how Hanoi developed into what it has become today.
Probably needs 30 minutes to go through. The ground floor is not a permanent exhibition.

This is definitely the most authentic performance of traditional Vietnamese Art in Hanoi.

Celebrating different arts throughout Vietnam, including the once outlawed art of Ca Tru: Which is certainly interesting to experience. It's a kind of poetry where emotion is only displayed by the voice. It's chilling.

They have a meet and greet after the show where you can meet the musicians and try the instruments and drink tea.

The Hanoi Old Quarter Culture Exchange Center was opened in the autumn of 2015, and is proving to be an important addition to the understanding and appreciation of how the city of Hanoi has developed over 1.000 years.
It is not evident to the audience who may pass this modern, but rather discrete facade in the bustling street of Dao Duy Tu, and probably most visitors who are interested in the history of Hanoi will feel they have got the essence when visiting the house in 87 May May or 28 Hang Buom. But the main presentation of the development of the Old Quarter is to be found on the 1st Floor of the new Culture Exchange Center. Don't miss it! The exhibit is very well designed and crafted, with interesting photos as far back as the late 1800's, giving you a better understanding of how this wonderful maze of streets and alleys were developed over the centuries. You may not have got it, but Hanoi's history does back more than 1.000 years.
The ground floor has changing exhibitions, and the quality of these will of course always vary, but just move up to the 1st floor - and there is no entrance fee!
Even more so - check out if there is an occasional concert on the top floor - they are of very high quality - featuring Vietnamese traditional and contemporary artists.
