Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The old French Quarter of Hanoi is dotted with many magnificent and beautifully restored old buildings dating back to French colonial times, set in wide streets and leafy gardens. Many of the old residences are now foreign embassies. The Presidential Palace in particular is an outstanding building which could easily grace a Parisian boulevard and many of the other old Government buildings from the colonial era combine traditional French and Vietnamese architecture in an interesting and distinctive style.

I've been here but too bad that could not enter Hanoi Opera House, it is said that only if there is a concert here that I could buy tickets and get in.

This area is considered the most luxurious corner of Hanoi, with 5-star hotels, high-end restaurants, elegant coffee shops, bookstores, boutiques, and galleries. It is also the center for embassies, government buildings, and wealthy neighborhoods. If you visit the French Quarter, try the iconic Trang Tien ice cream!

This is a very nice part of town as there are many colonial buildings and architecture here.
The buildings and the roads are well maintained and clean. The landscape are filled with trees and greenery, so it pleasant to be here as compared to the chaotic Old Quarter.

Located just down from old town, is the slightly less hustle and bustle of the french quarter, hugging the lake, it was wonderful walking the streets admiring the colonial architecture. Definitely an area not to be missed.
