This was my first visit to the country. I let Lan and VivuTravel design the itinerary for our 8 days in the country. I first contacted Lan only 7 days in advance.
Lan designed a schedule for Hanoi, HCM, Halong Bay and Sapa. Our time was limited given the size of the country. She maximized our time for daily activities by using overnight train trips to and from Sapa. Our holiday experience was exceptional, and I realized every day that Lan’s team of guides and connections had made the experience so much better than if I had tried this on my own. Here are a few highlights:
1. Lan obtained unbelievable pricing for us. We asked for a 5 Star hotel in HCM . I saw on Expedia that the hotel that Lan had booked for us would have cost me over 50% of the entire fee that I paid Lan for the entire 9 days of hotels, airfares and guides!.
2. All of the guides were excellent. All were very knowledgeable, had excellent language skills and eager to share their own stories of the country. We are particularly grateful to Victor Lo in HCM for recommending Noir and negotiating a special menu. Guides met us at train stations/airports at 11 pm at night of 4:30 in the morning, but all made us feel like honored guests in their cities.
3. We never over-lapped with any group. The guides knew how to personalize the trips, including a visit to the home of a gentleman in the Mekong who has spent 50 years collecting antiques.
I ever return to Vietnam or that region I would start by contacting Lan.

We just completed a sixteen day tour of Vietnam and Cambodia organized by Vivu Travel and our experience with them was wonderful and great value for our money. The cost included 4-star hotels, visas for Vietnam, sightseeing (inclusive of all entrance fees), with our private guide, car & driver, 3 internal flights, overnight cruise on Ha Long Bay. Our tour specialist, Ms. Hoai Nguyen was wonderful to work with. She was very prompt in her response to every email and query; and made changes to our itinerary based on our requirements. During our tour she kept in touch with us to make sure that things were okay and if we needed anything.
Our hotels, were very nice, clean, comfortable, with very good breakfast buffets and in great locations - walking distance to restaurants and shops.
Our tour guides were very professional, courteous, friendly & knowledgeable. We were mostly in Toyota or Lexus type SUVS, very clean and comfortable; the drivers were cautious and always made sure we had ample supply of drinking water bottles. The guide and driver met us at airports, took us to our hotels, and back to the airports as well.
I would strongly recommend Vivu Travel and would use them for any of our future travels to the countries they organize tours in.

We have just returned from a wonderful 21 day bespoke holiday in Vietnam, organised through Vivu Travel. We first visited Vietnam in 2013, but this time we wanted to focus on Northern Vietnam (Hanoi, Sapa, the northern mountains and minority people up to the border with China, Halong Bay and Hoi An). We were not disappointed and at times we seemed to be the only western tourists, which was to our liking as we feel that we have experienced "the real Vietnam".
We discovered Vivu Travel via a thorough internet search, which included checking their customer reviews and travel industry awards. We booked our own international return flights to/from Hanoi and via e-mail communicated with Kim Dong, at Vivu Travel to rough out an itinerary. She came up with good suggestions and a range of accommodation (4* hotels, bungalow developments and several homestays). As it was tailored to our individual requirements the travel was by SUV, with a driver and English speaking guide. Since there was a lot of travel in the northern mountains, often along narrow winding roads, our itinerary involved many hours travelling by car, so we requested a rest day be included half way through the holiday. This was spent at H'Mong Village Resort, in Ha Giang province.
Our guide, Quang, was superb. It was very easy to communicate with him in English, and he took us on several beautiful mountain treks. He was keen to teach us about Vietnamese history, culture and customs and never failed to answer our many questions. He also ensured that we ate well wherever we stopped for lunch, or dinner (and one of us is vegetarian - but that did not present any problems).
Our driver, Mr Dat, was calm, smooth, careful and very considerate in his driving style. We always felt safe, when travelling along the narrow, winding mountain passes, or though the busy towns and cities where avoiding oncoming motorbikes required great skill.
Our travel itinerary was very well detailed by Kim, and took us through stunning scenery. The trekking and experiences along the route were great fun and we had many action packed days. Quang and Mr Dat became family friends.
Overall it was a fantastic holiday, well organised and resourced by Vivu Travel.

We booked a 17-day bespoke private tour of Vietnam with Vivu Travel for our family of four (2 adults & 2 teens). From beginning to end it has been a joy working with Kim and her colleagues. From our first speculative email to which we received an enthusiastic and detailed response to the numerous changes and tweaks to our itinerary all dealt with promptly with thought and excellent local insight. Kim was wonderful enough to put us in touch with a UK- based reference to offer us reassurance before we booked our trip. She went the extra mile helping us with visas, SIM cards, laundry services and even hosting us for afternoon tea in their office!
Our guides and drivers were all great with good local knowledge and very accommodating to our pace (which was pretty demanding at times) and always happy to make a change adding things in or letting us avoid things that were too touristy.
Thank you Vivu for all your honest, excellent and interesting suggestions (especially as this wasn’t our first trip to Vietnam), your professional service and value for money. We couldn’t recommend your services more highly.

It took me a long time to find the agent who would give us the best experience for our trip to Vietnam and Cambodia and then I found VIVUTRAVEL in HANOI and it was the best decision I could have made.
My first contact with Kim Dung and her reply nearly straight away in perfect english made sorting out the itinerary so much easier.
After many emails back and forth we finally agreed on a trip that would allow us to see the best of these two countries.
From the time we were met at Hanoi airport by a personal guide and driver everything went like clockwork. All the guides were fantastic and turned up on time everyday and all the drivers were very safe especially trying to negotiate the traffic in hanoi and Ho Chi MInh.
All the Hotels were superb and the restaurants we used were first class.
Our three week tour was very busy and we went from the far north to the mekong delta and the sights we saw were unbelievable.
I would give VIVUTRAVEL 5 stars for everything and would recommend them to all my friends who want to visit this part of the world.

We booked a 13 day tour with Vivu Travel for our honeymoon and we couldn't be more pleased how it went. We had difficulty on the first leg of our trip unrelated to Vivu and when I contacted our consultant Lan she was very accommodating and sorted us out with extra hotel and an extra tour. From the moment we landed in Saigon and collected at the airport by our first guide Mr Do we knew we where in good hands. He was very witty and told us plenty of stories about the History and Culture of Vietnam. We then flew to Da nang where we where collected once again by our favorite guide of the trip Mr.Phuc who went out of his way to constantly please us, he took us to places not on the itinerary as he thought they where too good to miss and was always taking his phone out to take photos of us which he then sent at the end of our leg in Hoi An and Hue. We then made our way up to Hanoi where we met our last guide of our journey Mr.sonny who took us around the streets on street food tours and to Halong bay where we spent an overnight on a cruise.
At every hotel we checked into and the cruise we had cakes, free upgrades and a special treatment as Lan had informed them all it was our honeymoon.
If there was a stage where I was unsure of what was going on I emailed Lan our consultant and she emailed back very quickly even if it was 9.30 at night, nothing ever seemed to be an issue. She also invited us to her office to meet all the staff at Vivu which I thought was a very personal touch. For anyone wishing to use a tour company in Vietnam I couldn't recommend Vivu travel enough and I will be using them in future for any other travels I do I Asia where they offer a service.

Well done Kim !! Amazing trip from start to finish .
Booked a tour package around Vietnam and Cambodia with Kim from Viivutravel.com.
Kim was absolutely amazing sorting out so many flights/hotels and trips . It was jam packed for nearly 3 weeks but totally worth doing .
Kim was at hand 24/7 for literally anything, Including personally checking us in to each flight
I will be totally honest and say I am probably the hardest person in the world to please as far as accommodation goes but all hotels were absolutely first class .
Hats off to all the tour guides !! Charlie/ngoc you were brilliant. The drivers sy/lub made us feel totally relaxed !! I’m a nervous passenger but they were brilliant.
Kim and the team even arranged a lovely little fruit lunch to meet us in person half way through our holiday such personal touches means a lot
I decided last minute that I didn’t want to do a pre planned trip which she had booked for us but really wanted to go to the Elephant sanctuary!! I sent Kim a message and within a couple of hours it was all sorted !! This is a must trip for everyone !! Amazing day .
If your thinking of going to Vietnam and Cambodia I would 100% highly recommend booking via this company . They are honest and excellent at providing exactly what you want .

Just got back about a week ago from an amazing 16 days trip to Vietnam and Cambodia with Vivu Travels. What an absolutely amazing and memorable experience throughout.
Can’t thank Ms Hoai Nguyen for planning an excellent trip. Her eagerness to create an exciting and varied trip with perks to suit all our requirements was above and beyond! If there was anything we needed at any point for whatever reason, Ms Hoai and her team made it happen! Can’t thank her enough for the personal touch she gave it.
Visas were taken care of, hotels, home-stays, excursion experiences booked with delightful surprise perks and any internal flights arranged.
At arrival in every city we were warmly greeted by our guides and from that point on, we relaxed and enjoyed the comfortable ride with very conscientious drivers. They made sure we had vegetarian food at each and every place we visited. Greatly appreciated!
For the absolutely beautiful scenic drive (my favorite part) through the north of Vietnam, Tom our guide was very knowledgeable, totally reliable and fun. We think he learnt to appreciate our silly sense of humour!! He became more of a trustworthy friend along with Ms Huang (Pink) and Handsome with his safe driving through fog and rain. They had everything covered.
We absolutely loved the Vietnamese people, history and the culture.
Our guide in Siem Reap, San and driver “Hero” were amazing as well. San is very knowledgeable and we learned so much about the history and culture of Angkor Wats and surrounding temples.
Was a pleasure to meet Ms Hoai and the awesome Vivu Travels team! Thank you all.
Most definitely recommend Vivu Travels if you are looking for a personal touch and an amazing experience for travels to Vietnam, Cambodia and many other countries.

My wife and I have just returned home from a trip of a lifetime organised by Vivu Travel. From start to finish the holiday has been first class and we would 100% recommend using Vivu Travel if you are planning on visiting Vietnam and surrounding countries. Our trip was for over 3 weeks and included Cambodia as well as travelling from the North of Vietnam to the south. We told Vivu what we wanted to do and where we wished to visit and they out together a great personalised itinerary. Their support throughout the trip was fantastic too and they kept in regular contact. We had the lovely Lan looking after us and we cannot thank her enough. Without a doubt we would use Vivu Travel again!

VivuTravel is truly exceptional in every aspect and certainly the service was above and beyond our expectations. From the very beginning when we started the correspondence and enquires about our trip, VivuTravel was very quick in communicating and made us feel confident and comfortable. We were worried about not being able to obtain the visa approval letter to enter Vietnam but that too VivuTravel helped us get it without any problem. We are truly thankful for making our trip to Vietnam so wonderful and memorable. Our one week trip was custom made and Peter, Linda, Hoai, Kim with the entire VivuTravel team made it so extra special. Linda and Peter went above and beyond and added the special touch to our tours that is unforgettable. We enjoyed every single moment of our stay in Vietnam including the shopping as well as village life experiences in Hoi An. Everything was amazing with special thanks to Linda. We highly recommend VivuTravel to whoever is looking for any tours and the team is truly caring and professional. Thank you so much and we wish to visit Vietnam again soon and of course join VivuTravel without any hesitation as they plan it best and make everything perfect.

Hi. Were you able to pay with credit card? We are about to book. Suddenly credit cards are not accepted and only cash transfer accepted. Very unusual and my bank doesn't want to send the funds. How did you make deposit and/or use credit card? Thank you

I had thought we used credit card for the deposit and paid the balance near the end of the trip at Vivu’s office in Hanoi. We found Vivu very trustworthy and attentive. It was very nice meeting them in person because they had done so much work and arranged such an amazing trip for us. Have never worked with a better agency than Vivu and highly recommend in all aspects.

Yes we biked Angkor for three days, awesome. Then we did a county tour of Hue and Hoian again awesome. We also biked to boat some where but honestly can’t remember. The most we biked in any one day was 45 kilometers. All good, no issues.

Hello Nguyen,
I am looking to book a tour in Vietnam arriving on the 28th February for about 14 days. I am travelling with my wife and we would like to experience Vietnam. We are interested in wildlife and walking and would rather experience Vietnam than stay in luxury tourist hotels. We do like the beach but spending all day laying in the sun day after day is such a waste of time. We would like to explore a part of Vietnam rather than flying up and down the country. We like travelling by car and train.
