The first traditional Vietnamese house we visited. Many more living examples in villages and Hoi An.

This is a well put together albeit small display of one of the traditional tube houses of the Old Quarter. Tubular in that it’s long and quite skinny (as they used to tax based on the width of the property frontage). Only a small entrance...More

You'll probably only want to spend about 30 minutes exploring this traditional house (it was part of my free walking tour). It's definitely interesting, but it won't take you long to see it all.

Interesting to walk around the house and appreciate the furniture as well as sale items. Especially if one is into antiques. The visit would probably take around 15-30 minutes but its good to appreciate old Hanoi house architecture.

Probably not worth making a special trip to see this but you should stop by when touring the old quarter. An interesting look at how many of the houses whould have looked in the past.

It is good that the Vietnamese Government is preserving a lot of their heritage and this is one beautiful example. As the city grows much of the character will be lost and it will become more like HCMC.

Visited this place on walking around old quarter. A real window into how people lived here centuries ago. Very interesting indeed.
