Very surreal - only had the opportunity to drive by the Palace. Very sobering experience while in RVN.

Main building is very impressive but you cannot get very near to it. The other building and cars are very interesting though and the gardens are very pretty.

This building was constructed in 1906 as the palace of the governor general of Indochina. It isn't open to the public as it is only used for official receptions. The building can be seen from the gardens but there isn't much to see because of the trees between you and the house.

To get the most from your visit, I would recommend visiting with a guide to have the history and philosophy of Ho Chi Minh explained fully. We would not have appreciated the site as much without this information. Also, if you plan to visit the museum and Mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh as well, DO NOT visit on Monday. The... More

Pop by and take a photo of this lovely building and also the many others in the area. The area and many buildings are very opulent Compared to the old city... A throw back to the French colonial past..well preserved and in active use as are all the buildings in the area....lots embassies and national government buildings in the area.

This building and gardens was beautiful and splendid. I wished we could have entered the palace however it was good to be able to see all we could and I loved the house on stilts and cars

Very crowded but plenty to see and you are able to wander within the site/ complex. I especially liked the old cars and the presidential living space and work desk. The grounds and gardens were delightful. Plenty of ponds/ water with birds and goldfish.

We had an amazing day learning the history of this beautiful site and the city of Hanoi. I can highly recommend seeing this site but would suggest that you need a guide to fully understand and explain the amazing history.

We walked around this area as part of our guided tour. It is quite a pleasant walk and is interesting to see how Ho Chi Minh lived when he was there. It is quite busy with tourists and I am not sure if there is a quieter time to visit. That said, being such an open area makes it easier... More
