West lake was quite huge and nice place for physical activities. It was quite windy along the lake. Good to visit with family.

There are some great views from the many cafes surrounding the lake, but it is quite dirty and you'll often see piles of dead fish and spot locals dumping all their rubbish into the lake, so needless to say it can be quite smelly in the summer heat. Not a bad spot for a run if you are looking for... More

Very nice lake that is surrounded by the tourist area. Lots of aggressive vendors, fake cabs and tourists. Nice to walk around but if your looking for more than typical tourist prices and food, move along.

It is the biggest lake in Hanoi. You can hide a bicycle (around the lake) to have biking around the lake. The road is quite brand new so it is easy to finish it. You should start at Tran Quoc Pagoda - one of famous pagoda in Hanoi. From Ve Ho Street, the road is quite few vehicles. You can... More

A beautiful place in the middle of a very bustling city. Time out for peace and reflection. Can highly recommend a walk around the Lake and in hot weather, a cooling ice cream!

It's a nice lake to drive around and to sit down in one of the local restaurants but to be honest it's not something really special or a must see. Near the West Lake there is a expat area called Tay Ho. Its more relaxed than the Old Quarter. You can easily combine it with visiting the Flower Market. In... More

The lake is ok as it provides you with something different in a busy city and its reasonably large. There are some nice trees & gardens and walking paths and you can also sit under some shady trees on a hot day and look at the lake. The road is nearby with lots of traffic and so its not quiet... This lake is not very different from any other lake in a city, but it's quite big and you can enjoy your cup of coffee or have some dinner with a nice view. There are also very "romantic" peddle boats in swan-shapes. Perhaps it's nicer to visit with sundown, I heard.
