To say this was Epic would be underselling it. To be honest I was excepting it to be instagram hype. But I quickly learned that it was amazing . Alan was extremely helpful form the second I messaged him on WhatsApp . He organised airport transfers , recommended a hotel to stay at in Hanoi and provided all info needed to get there and get booked on a trip. once at Alans yard I was very impressed with quality of the bikes , the majority of bikes looked like they were new. The Honda 300L is a perfect bike for these trips. solid on the twisty roads and more than capable off road. Now I get to our guid Hung. What a guy! he rode his little xr150 like the wind . His riding was amazing and personality even better. He showed us places I couldn't of imagined . taught us how to drink rice wine and shared his love and knowledge of his country. I told Hung "we meet as stranger , we are leaving as brothers" I will remember this trip for the rest of my days and will defiantly be back for more . Massive thank you to Alan , Hung and all the team at Vietnam Motorbike Tours .

Thankyou so much Alan and the team at Vietnam bikers! Myself and a group of 6 friends from Australia opted for the 7 day ha Giang loop tour and wow were we impressed! The minute we landed in Hanoi Alan was so helpful providing us transfers to and from our hotel. The day before our tour we finally got to meet Alan and also our guide Andy. Alan took us into town and we shared a meal and PLENTY of cold beers, it was such a great way to meet the team. We arrived at the garage the following morning and we were greeted by a fleet of brand new Honda crf 300ls. From the moment we left on the bikes to the day we returned i honestly couldn’t have wished for a better trip! Everything was organised to perfection! From accomodation to breakfast, lunch and dinner. The home stays where very welcoming and went above and beyond for their guests! We experienced some unbelievable scenery, on and off road riding and met so many great people along the way. If you are considering booking this tour I recommend you do so 100%. You won’t find a better value for money tour anywhere in the world. Being from Australia I was optimistic about how the trip would play out having booked it 6 months prior but once we hit the road I realised what a great decision I had made. We opted for a support vehicle to follow us (which I highly recommend) once we arrived at our home stay our bags where in our rooms waiting for us! I suggest you check out their instagram page “Vietnam bikers” it really does speak for itself. Thank you again Alan and also special mention to our tour guide Andy! You really went above and beyond to provide a trip of a lifetime and I thank you so much. It was pleasure to have shared this trip with you 🤝 Hopefully we see you guys again soon for the next one! These guys just get it. We couldn’t be happier with our experience. Alan, Andy and the crew are an absolute pleasure to deal with and genuinely great at what they do.
The tour itself is like no other, off the beaten path exploring the lesser seen side of Vietnam, stunning scenery, well organised, good motorbikes and cold beer everywhere we went!
Our group were catered to brilliantly in terms of routes to suit our riding ability providing flexibility day to day to accomodate us.
I highly recommend booking this tour, we’ll be back and we’ve been referring our friends and family.
What an experience. Thank you.

I went of a 6 day tour of North Vietnam (Ha Giang Tour) with a friend of mine. The guys at Vietnam Motorcycle Tours were phenomenal in both organization, equipment and overall hospitality. This is world class quality here and both the owners and the tour guides care very deeply about what they do. I would highly recommend this tour and the company for a one in a lifetime adventure.

I've just completed my 5th ride in Vietnam and used Hung's company this time.
The greatest benefit you'll derive is not wasting your time trying to find the right tracks to follow, the right places to eat and the right hotels to stay in.
Your time will be spent riding IN the experience, not trying to manage the logistics.

A completely unbelievable experience. Never used a manual bike before but our guide Hoa knew exactly which routes to take us down at the various stages and incrementing the difficulty as we went - by the end we were able to access cliffs, rivers and villages that were otherwise inaccessible. This made this tour of the area truly very special and authentic. Then staying with Vietnamese families at home stays provided experiences we could never have had otherwise. They sort all of the boring stuff out and you just ride bikes, eat/drink well and have amazing experiences. Plenty of room to push yourself on the trails too which we loved. We now know the basics of the language and customs and it has elevated the rest of our trip beyond expectation. Truly unforgettable experience and the best trip I have ever been on. Every day the terrain got more challenging and breathtaking and there some very special experiences thrown in there such as a boat ride over a lake in a national park. You will not regret booking with this company.

Took a 12 day northern tour with Linh as our guide.I found him to be a very chilled and relaxed guide,nothing to hard for him as he took everything in his stride.
Every we were treated to great scenery on and off road. Linh showed us great variation of Vietnamese food and a good blend of hotel and homestay accomodation. Overall I had a great time with a good bunch of people.
Already thinking about the next one.

Incredible experience. Never used a manual bike before but our guide Hao showed us the ropes and by the end of the trip we were absolutely sending it down single track mountain paths. Then staying with Vietnamese families at home stays provided an authentic experience we could never have had otherwise. We now know the basics of the language and customs and it has elevated the rest of our trip beyond expectation. Truly unforgettable experience and the best holiday I have ever had. What can I say, an unbelievable experience that I will never forget. Alan arranged his best off road trail guide which was perfect for me. We could venture further off the beaten track and see more of the nature and how people live in the mountains.

What is the best time of year to go for motorcycle tours in North or South Vietnam? I know the weather differs in both regions so need to know best time of year for both. Thinking of the Ho Chi Minh trail tour, but any general information to help my friends and I decide which tour to take, would be helpful. Probably thinking of no more than a 5 day ride tour and maybe a couple days to visit Hanoi before we depart.

I read your post and kind of interested in the north to south tour you took. I'm planning to do it next year and was wondering whether about the tour.
Would you mind answer a few questions?
1. The north to south tour, is it from Hanoi to Saigon in 23 days?
2. Would the tour operator willing to group a solo rider like myself with other solo rider(s), or with a small group, I think it would be more fun to travel in a small group, and I think this would be cheaper per person in term of cost for the tour.
