Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Floyd was great. He was very informative, took us to places we would never find and took us to a few great eating places!

My Guide Zenni was lovely and on time. I really enjoyed my tour/chat with her :)

The tour i booked was Ho Chi Minh Complex & Temple of Literature Group Tour but it was just Zenni and me (maybe because of Tet).

Please take note that Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum will be closed on Monday & Friday!
We are to pay for entrances fees for the guide so prepare approximately 140k Dong (for yourself and your guide!)

I had such a nice time exploring the Ho Chi Minh Complex and Temple of Lit with my guide and new friend, Thao. A bright and wonderful student, she was able to show me around and explain some historical knowledge about various items, locations, symbols, background and the city itself. As this is a FREE TOUR, it is perfect for what you expect. She took the time amidst her final exams to work, therefore answer all my questions to the best of her knowledge or clarify during any language barrier. She spent time getting to know me, and I with her, which was nice since it was just the two of us. I would highly recommend the few hours of the tours in the very walk able city of Hanoi, and please tip the kind students for their hard work. My only improvement was letting me know we were walking from the office to the first stop, I would have gladly paid for a Grab to save my feet :) everything else was easy and enjoyable. Thank you, Thao and Hanoi Free Day Tours!

We went on the Old Quarter and French Quarter Walking tour on our first full day in Hanoi in October. There were only two of us on this tour and our tour guides were friendly and enthusiastic. The tour guides are local students who want to improve their English- we thought that their level of English was very good and they were more than happy to answer any questions we had- it was nice learning about Vietnam and the culture. They also gave us good recommendations on places to eat and have an egg coffee. I would definitely recommend going on this walking tour whilst in Hanoi!

A good tour, but with a lot of walking. The itinerary includes a lot of walking through busy Hanoi Old Quarter. In a group this often leaves the people walking in the back not hearing any of the explanations or discussions. The few actual stops were sometimes quite short, only the "Ancient House" was really in-depth. The English level of the two guides was okay but some of our questions were left unanswered due miscommunication or lack of knowledge. The best stop was the great place where we had egg coffee.

Despite being a Free Tour, both the Trained & Trainee Guides showed great enthusiasm when leading the tour. Their local knowledge is impressive too. Kudos for the excellent works

A lot of walking! The itinerary includes a lot of walking through busy Hanoi Old Quarter that is very tiring the stops for informarion were quite short. The English level of the guide was just about to get by though some of our questions were left unanswered due miscommunication or lack of knowledge. The girl guide was super eager and cheerful qhich made it up a bit

I really enjoyed the tour we had with Wang. He explained a lot about Vietnamese culture and habits and could answer all our questions about Hanoi. I would recommend this tour for anyone who is interested in many background stories and tales as well as in a well-planned walking tour through the old quarter of the city.
