About
Dong Phong Gallery is for art lovers: it is genuine, original and across boundaries. The owner, Mr. Pho Duc Long, is one of the pioneers of the fine art in Hanoi. In 1992, Mr. Long opened the first private art gallery in Hanoi and ever since, Vietnamese artists have benefitted from his wise and kind patronage. Many well-know artists have started their careers with Dong Phong Gallery and Mr. Long continues to promote young artists and older masters at home and abroad. Mr. Long has a large network among Vietnamese artists. Though the gallery appears small, there is much, much more than meets the eye: a large off-site collection and access to many artists' studios. Mr. Long and his niece, Ms. Mai, are in the gallery daily.

Yes, I'm a loyal client since 15 year (and yes, I've bought the first painting back in the year 2000) the gallery is my point of reference when it comes to further enhance my outstanding collection of vietnamese paintings.
Thank to the extended network of Mr. Long, who is well connected in the local art scene, many doors (including those remaining closed for many others gallery owners in town) to the treasures of the well known but also of the young talented artists will magically open.
People deeply interested in purchasing selected and exquisite vietnamese paintings should also ask to visit the "home based gallery".
I'm already looking forward to the next (almost yearly) visit.

Am I missing something?! The work here is quite original but the gallery is tiny! Will take you about 3 minutes to look around if you really take your time

Thank you for your comment. The tiny place you dropped by is one of our two art space. It is tiny but at the center, so it is good for displaying just selected works. You could visit this link to read about one of the shows there https://hanoigrapevine.com/2014/06/kvt-dong-phong-saves-day-delectably-affordable-art/11/ . We also have an Art-partment which is 3km far from this tiny one, where presenting our whole collection of VIetnamese arts. I hope to welcome you again in our gallery if you will come back to Hanoi again.

Absolutely magnificent art - I am the lucky owner of a most magnificent HUGE oil paining that go home with me safely and is now being framed - the artists in vietnam are unbelievably talented and I definitely suggest that if you are an art lover you will be spoilt for choice here

We have collected a lot of Vietnamese art over the years in Ho Chi Min City and Hanoi. Dong Phong came highly recommended by friends who have the same interests. It is a family affair of love for all sorts of Vietnamese art styles and genres. While in Hanoi Mai Lai guided us through many artist's studios in the back streets and alleys of Hanoi and finally to her home that had an amazing array of superb art. Way beyond the typical gallery fare of the more ordinary galleries. This is not to be missed. it is more than a gallery, it is an adventure.

Local art gallery and paintings by local artists, small showing but Hanoi scenes, some lovely abstract work.
Very friendly and helpful and offering lots of advice about the paintings.

I have had the great joy to follow Dong Phong Art gallery in Hanoi for more than 10 years and have accumulated quite a collection as a result. The owners not only have an amazing eye for art but have also discovered some of the most famous young contemporary artists in Vietnam today.

It's worth to come here, even once, if you want to see and collect the most typical and interesting paintings and sculptures by various Vietnamese talented artists. It is the teeny but delectable Dong Phong Art room - an offshoot of the main Dong Phong Art Gallery ... and not far from the Press Club in Ly Dao Thanh street.
