Unique Experience of play portrayed through some nicely decorated puppets on Water. A truly unique experience of Saigon and Village life during olden days.

Our itinerary just said “Puppet Show”, and we arrived expecting shadow puppets. What a treat that we saw instead these fabulous water puppets, which were very entertaining. I have never seen anything like them before, and it did not matter that the entire show was in Vietnamese. We were given front row seats, which were super (sometimes you can be... More

The ticket price is VND 230K, it is worth it!. The show was 45 mins long and it is made up by many different stories that were local to Vietnam culture. The puppet show was very lively presented and it does not have any boring moment. Although the show was presented in the Vietnam language but the story line can... More

I loved this show so much! I just went because I had a little free time between other outings but it turned out to be a major highlight. The very talented actors and musicians are out in plain sight so you can watch them work their craft. They play traditional instruments and sing in the traditional way. And I haven't... More

The show itself was interesting. The show is all in Vietnamese but you can follow the story just fine - my personal favourite being man and woman beat a cat to death for eating the fish they were trying to catch! However, the theatre experience was dreadful. Staff were not enforcing any rules during to show so people were entering/exiting... More

I thought the show was a good cultural experience but did not really interest me. The show is in Vietnamese but it was easy to guess/understand what the overall plot/story was. The cost was not expensive by North American standards but comparative to other activities/things I can have in HCM (i.e., visit a museum, have iced coffee, eat more pho,... More

We missed the water puppet show in Hanoi so made a point of watching it in Ho Chi Minh City. The show lasted 45 minutes, cost 230,000 VND (approx. $10.00 USD) and is definitely worth the admission. The show is fast pace with many different vignettes/stories about Vietnamese life and culture. It features 6 musicians (3 on each side of... More

I thoroughly enjoyed this show and from the reaction of the audience, so did everyone else! It is vibrant and entertaining with a hint of comedy and wonderful traditional music. It didn't matter that I didn't understand a word of what was said, it was still captivating and probably my favourite activity in Ho Chi Minh. I highly recommend it... More

It wasn't a bad show. If you want a cultural introduction of Vietnam, conveniently located in the city centre, look no further. It was quite a sight to see the multiple puppets perform multiple tricks, and the accompanying musical ensemble. However, at VND 230k (USD12) for 50 minutes, it was too short, too expensive. Plus it is held in a... More
