We absolutely loved our cooking class and market trip. The market trip was so interesting, learning about all the fruits and vegetables in the market. The actual cooking class was very interesting and it broke down the steps to make these Vietnamese dishes and they were all so delicious! Thank you for a very informative, fun and tasty experience!

Learned cooking techniques beyond the basics. One of the highlights of our trip! We ate what we prepared and it was so so yummy!!! Thank you to the Chef and her family for showing us a GREAT time

This was an amazing experience! We arranged this experience outside of our cruise ship due to most excursions being full and we hit the jackpot! Our day started with a slightly delayed arrival and the hostess was super communicative and graciously allowed us to show one hour late with zero fuss or impact to our experience! Upon arrival the hostess was waiting for us at the meeting place and showed us around the market and even assisted with purchases. After the market we went to a very intimate venue and the hostess and her brother walked us step by step thru the preparation of an amazing three courses. The amount of time, instruction, patience and hands on was great. Hee English was excellent. The food was delicious and we left with gifts, a small cookbook and graduation certificates. Can’t say enough how happy we were to have this unique experience.
For your time in Vietnam make sure you download the grab app for taxi’s to and from the market area as some of the cruise ports are quite a drive away, but we’ll worth it!

What a fun experience! Can’t say enough good things about how enjoyable this experience was with my 13-year old daughter. From zipping across town on a motorbike from the market to the clean kitchen to the prep, cooking and dining, Chef and her staff really made this a 5-star excursion. Thank you! I would definitely be interested in taking another class in te future!

A fun way to experience simple but authentic Vietnamese flavors and dishes. The chef and guide Ms. Quy was very friendly and knowledgeable as she gave us a quick walkthrough and explanations of Ben Thanh Market sections. She explained the menu and we learned some facts about native fruit and vegetables! She then ordered some taxis for the group which was about a 15 minute drive frok the market.We met at the cooking studio for the cooking class, and met the other chef Ms. Ngoc, as well as 2-3 other folks who were cooking in the kitchen. Each dish and step was explained and modeled before we tried it.
Note that we never did any frying, baking, steaming, etc. These steps were done by kitchen staff ( probably to ensure we got to eat on time and all was cooked properly :) Also, there is a different menu depending on the day.
I believe banh xeo is a weekend special dish, which we sadly missed :(
The cooking we did was: seasoning meat, measuring and combining ingredients to make sauces, cutting vegetables and fruit, and measuring, rolling, and filling dumplings. We were taught some basic plating to make things look beautiful as well.
If you are looking for a simple, fun class this is for you! She also sends you home with a recipe book :)

Such a wonderful experience. One of the best tours we have taken. The food was definitely the best meal we had in the three weeks travelling through Vietnam. Our host and chef was an excellent chef and communicator. We received beautiful gifts and certificates at the end. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Highly recommend

I took 2 Advanced classes with Mai home and loved the experience !
After a market tour we went to an apartment and cooked a variety of dishes.
I thought the class was very hands-on and learned a lot of information on the Vietnamese cooking techniques and food habits in general.
We prepared delicious dishes, I was amazed at how it turned out.
The chef and team was so lovely.
Highly recommend !

It was a nice experience with very nice chefs giving us professional instructions until we finished preparing a tasty meal. We were taught the recipes as well as some background theory. You will receive the recipes with historic background as a proper printout with cover and all as well as a nice parting gift. Expect a good time and tasty food. If we can find time, we will join another class.

How long does the entire thing last (market and cooking class)? and do they pick you up at your hotel? How do you get to the market and the culinary center. I want to make a reservation, but I cannot see how this is done. Thanks

Regarding the schedule, there are 3 sessions per day:
Morning session: 8.15am - 12.00 pm.
Afternoon session: 2.00pm - 5.30pm
Evening session: 5.30pm- 8.00 pm (no market visit)
Program:
- pick up from hotel in Dist.1, market visit, cooking ingredients, meals (lunch or dinner), recipe book, certificate and souvenir gift.
- extra charge for drop off (if any)
