This is the city's biggest, most authentic market. You can find almost anything you need here, from basic supplies to souvenirs. The food is outstanding and the people-watching is great even if you don't buy anything.

You'll do much better to find a shop off any street with pricetags. Those prices are pretty fair. No price tags generally means greatly inflated tourist scamming prices.

The market has more than 100 stores inside and many of them sell souvenirs and clothes. The shop keepers will quote you very high price, you need to bargain at least half of asking price to avoid getting cheated. As there are many people in the market, it gets very humid and stuffy quickly. Stay hydrated to avoid getting dehydration!

The vendors are not pushy. Yes you do have to bargain and scout like most market place. Lots of things to see endless vendor and buy gifts and souvenirs.

As expected a busy market with a sensory overload of sights, sounds and smells. Not just a tourist market though with plenty of fresh produce on offer including some interesting live seafood. Good place to grab a Banh Mi on the go. The touts are a little in your face but that is the norm at these kind of places... More

Ben Thanh Market has almost anything you can think of. During night time the surrounding area gets filled with stalls and food stores.

I find this place over priced compare to other stuff that you can find on some streets or boutiques around, this market is just ripping you off, clothes are over price compare to what you can buy in Saigon Square, most of the woodcraft are cheaper if you go to some shops in the post office. If you're looking for... More

An iconic market, very different atmosphere at day time (inside the market building) and at night time (around the market building). Not much street food, cheap but good ones around but a lot of stalls at night time. Exactely the opposite at day time : good cheap street foods

Found the traders to be extremely aggressive to say the least. I had to physically remove one woman's hands from me because I refused to buy items from her stall. Be savvy with exchange rates as they will definitely try to rip you off! Awful place. Will never return here. There are many other makes around that are far nicer... More

I think Ben Thanh Market is a must go place in Ho Chi Minh CityThanh Market. This place is very convenient as you can buy anything such as local handicrafts, textiles,áo dài and souvenirs, as well as local cuisine in this large market. This was the second time i come to visit Ben. My first visit was in year 2010. After... More
