This is a hidden gem and worth a visit. I’m still getting used to Vietnam and struggling with how intense and busy everything is. It’s a small temple and they fill it. Could do with a guide to explain what was happening.

As someone who is of the Christian faith, I did not step into the Jade Emperor Pagoda with a mindset of a tourist, but instead as an outsider watching people practice their faith. I did not utter a word as I walked around listening to the chants they had playing. Observing how people pray and offer incense to the different statues inside the building was a unique sight to behold as their practices are foreign to me. Looking at those statues and how their constructed. This place does not allow you to take pictures in the building, and that’s for the better as it could not capture those feelings I had while walking through the building and seeing these events in person. This was the least touristy pagoda I went to throughout my whole trip, and I enjoyed it as it was outside my comfort zone. Though if you are looking to have a fun time, I would look elsewhere. There was a little area outside that was pretty, but my cousin and I were knocking out all the tourist attractions in the day, so I didn’t spend much time there. We probably spent thirty minutes in the pagoda. I do remember having to duck my head to enter some doors as I was too tall (I'm six feet), and being overly cautious while walking up and down the stairs due to how unstable it looked.

This pagoda has places to worship Buddha, Confucius and also Tao religion. It was interesting to see the three different areas. There is an area that shows what hell will be like for people who behave badly. It took us about half an hour with our guide to see this site

Was ticking off places of visit on our last day and dropped by. Was expecting a tiered building but was fairly surprised of different definition of pagoda in Vietnam. It was a busy single storey temple.

This pagoda is a mixed of Buddhism and Taoism, and a little bit Confucius. The lead color are red and yellow that show the Chinese culture in that. In front of the pagoda, have many burnt candle lights for us can light on the incense. There are some believe that people come here to pray about their love and their child. I think you should add this place to your spiritual destinations when you visiting Ho Chi Minh city
