About
The HCM Cooking Class is a unique and healthy cooking class. Not only will we teach you how to cook, but you will learn how to use food as medicine and discover Vietnamese food culture. Vietnamese food is one of the healthiest cuisines in the world. Our class is held in the most beautiful Agricultural Village where you will see our Vietnamese Medicine Garden with many different kinds of herbs, spices and vegetables. You will learn how to grow many kinds of mushrooms in our Mushroom House and experience what it is like to be a Vietnamese farmer.

Booked this class through airbnb experiences with a little apprehension as it was my first ever cooking class. Everything from the pickup, farm tour, cooking class and ride back to my hotel was faultless. Huy was an excellent, patient conversationalist, guide and teacher. The dishes turned out delicious and I'm excited to whip out my newfound knowledge of Vietnamese cuisine at my next party. Thao was also a great driver. Highly recommend this cooking class, and do pick up some homemade cashew candy on your way out - really regretting not getting more!

We had the pleasure of visiting the restaurant and it was one of the most memorable experience for our visit in Vietnam. The people in the place are very hospitable, nice, and pleasant, the food is an joyful experience by itself, the place is clean, and eating healthy food that still taste extremely delicious is worth hours we spent there.
I would recommend it to anyone who wants to have an authentic experience with pleasant people to spend time with

We did not have alot of time during our trip to Vietnam, and I would say that this set up was excellent!
They picked us up at our hotel even when our hotel was in district 2 in HCM. the guide was friendly and had a lot of knowledge about all the activities. We chose our own dishes and they were different from the rest of our group, but she managed very well to give instructions to both us and the others without any confusion. We especially loved the place of the cooking class. Nice and quiet area with farmlands and they had their own farm where they grew the ingredients we collected for our cooking class. Since this place was not far away from the Cu Chi tunnels it was a perfect combo for a one day activity!

I completed the Professional Chefs course at HCM cooking school in September /October 2022. I cannot speak highly enough of Chef Tan. He has a wealth of knowledge that he is more than willing to share. As a professional Chef myself he challenged me daily to improve my skills, techniques and understanding. He is also great fun, we spent most days laughing while also getting our work done. He is an excellent teacher that is knowledgeable with great patience and experience. He wants the best for his students and is very happy when he sees them succeed. I will forever be in his debt and cannot speak highly enough of him and his lovely family. If you are a professional Chef and want to improve your knowledge of Vietnamese cuisine and wok skills then this course is perfectly suited. Also having said that Chef Tan tailors each course to your ability. If you want to have a nice leisurely time or you want to test yourself helping him cook and prepare for the larger tour groups( 100+) then this is the course for you. I wish you all the best Chef Tan, many thanks!

In December, my wife and I booked a 2-day cooking course with Chef Tan to learn about Vietnamese cuisine. Chef Tan is a great chef with experience not just in Vietnamese cuisine, but international cuisine as well. I am a novice chef, so not only did I learn about the cuisine, but as chef tan is a professional chef, he taught me many techniques that I use at home to improve my cooking. The cooking class was an hour outside of Ho Chi Minh, but being on a farm meant we were able to pick and use the fresh ingredients, and Chef Tan arranged for us to visit a local farm and to a rice noodle factory, which gave us a greater appreciation for Vietnamese cuisine. If you are seriously interested in learning about Vietnamese cuisine, HCM Cooking class is a great option

Alice was amazing and so enthusiastic really made the whole cooking class feel exciting and worthwhile. Chef Tan’s recipes as well were so fun and not dangerous to make and tasted delicious. I also appreciated chef Tan coming out and greeting the guests and give inspiring words to hear.

We called for lunch after spending the morning in the tunnels. We were a large party and they had everything prepared and ready to serve us. The food was lovely, beautifully served but the flavours were superb, so fresh and subtle. The food was excellent .

We enjoyed to get many informations about the plants and herbs. It was very niece to pick many ingredients by ourselves. The group of 5 people was smart so the Chef had time for everyone’s questions. To learn a pho was super interesting. The drive from the center took more than 2 hours what we didn’t expect. That’s important to know. So we recommend to go to the tunnels. Only cooking class would be long drive for.

I had a very nice and interesting day with chef Linh, I definitely recommend this cooking class for those seeking to learn more about Vietnamese cuisine 👍🙂
Visiting the farm and picking ingredients at the start of the day is a great way to learn more about some of the typical vegetables of Vietnamese cuisine.
The day's cooking then flows smoothly thanks to the good organization and teaching skills of Chef Linh, who is there to guide you from start to finish. And, last but not least, cooked dishes are very good 🥙✨

I had the best time at this cooking class! Aura was amazing and showed us all of the best ingredients which were growing fresh in their garden. The food we made was so tasty and we got recipes to take home too. I would definitely recommend this experience to anybody who wants to experience the best Vietnamese cooking class!

Chef Tan please advise why you email and abuse customers when they cancel the class when they’ve clearly given 24ths notice? Please also advise why abuse travellers for booking via TripAdvisor and not directly with yourself? The commission issue is not the travellers issue I believe this must be an issue between yourself and TripAdvisor.This is outrageous!!

the class is very flexible . we have three different section morning 7:30am to 1:30pm ,afternoon 11:30am to 5:30pm and evening from 2:00pm to 8:30pm . the class is also can start whenever you want if you book private class and finish is aslo flexible . normally the class take 4-6 hours but if you like it more , you will enjoyed much more and spend more longer this class is never rush and all follow customers requirement . we have a ton of information would like to share about agriculture ,culture , medicine and healthy cooking with many cooking techniques . Not just a class where you learn few dishes . that is not a goal we set up for our class

We attended a “half day course”. We started at eight in the morning, when we got picked up by the car, then we drove for an hour. We were back home around three-four.. It was an amazing experience, and worth the driving time😊👌🏼

Hi are there enough vegetarian options to cook? No fish, egg, meat, chicken, fish sauce, fish oil etc. We are strictly vegetarians and are keen on doing a cooking class

Definitely. I myself am vegetarian and all the dishes I made were catered to my dietary restrictions. They have fake meat options as well as non-meat options.

our cooking class is super hands on where you learn all basic from ingredients where they are from and collecting your own ingredients then cooked your own dishes following the chefs instruction and important we give out the techniques that you can handle almost vietnamese dishes within a day and you also can choose your own dishes in our famous menu in the wedsite or any dishes you like in vietnam and send for us .we will organise well for you . you can learn half day cooking class with 4 dishes and full day cooking class with 9 dishes
