Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

At first sight, one may think it is just a bridge. Yes, but "Truong Tien Bridge" is much more than only that! It was designed and built, between 1897 and 1899, by acclaimed French engineer Gustave Eiffel - a name that needs no further comments. It was the first bridge to connect, yet in the French colonial period, both banks of "Sông Huong" - the beautiful "Perfume River" - in downtown Huê. "Truong Tien Bridge" has been restored on several occasions along the years and its last restoration dates from 1991. In 2002, a colorful lighting system was installed, creating an atmosphere of beauty and romance, which attracts lots of tourists and locals. Best seen on early evenings, when all lights are already on! Enjoy!

This iron bridge spans the Perfume River and signified, at the time of it's construction, a modernization of Vietnam under the last imperial dynasty. Now, it has two lanes of traffic and sidewalks outside of the roadway so that you can safely walk across the bridge. We crossed it several times daily on our bikes. The bridge is lit up beautifully at night. Cars seem to be prohibited at certain times - or all the time due to the narrow lanes. We were on bikes so I don't know the details.

If you want to take the pulse of the city, stand in the centre of this bridge. It is a historical bridge built in 1899. During the Vietnam War and the Tet Offensive in 1968, this bridge was blown up by the Viet Cong as the defenders occupied the Citadel. It is a beautiful bridge and you will cross it multiple times if you stay in Hue for a few days.

January 2023 -Looks nice at nighttime. Interestingly this structure was engineered by the Eiffel (of Tower fame) Company. Nice example of ironwork construction. But really it's just a bridge. I suppose the fact it's still standing after the American War is notable, and it's a free attraction.

We walked this bridge many time to visit new town, citadel, market and so on during the stay in Hue. People go across here to commute, jog and sightsee. The iron bridge shape is nice. The highlight is the nighttime. It’s lighted up by colors. The color changes by seconds. We saw the bridge very close and also from distance from Ca Hue boat trip.

Colour full lights give a beautiful picture in the night.
But when you visit assure your security as there are many locals with some of them drunk.

we really enjoyed our evening walk along the bridge to reach the market.
Very noisy and colorful, as Vietnam usually is, and offers you great views over the river

If you know the history of the bridge it is worth seeing which can be done easily from the walkway starting opposite the Saigon Morin hotel. Particularly good at night with the lights.

It is located on the center of Hue City.
It was very romantic and beautiful in the evening, there is a night market near the bank of river with many local foods but the price is not really cheap.
It will be a good place to relax in the evening when you visit Hue.
